Back to school week! here are your highs for today! happy friday. chance of thunderstorms/flash flooding for the mountains and deserts continue today. stay safe everyone. ps - one of my favorite memories as a kid is back to school shopping with my mom. i know not every kid has that privilege and it breaks my heart. as i get older i continue to be more and more grateful for all the wonderful things my mom does for my family, big and small. to this day, she does all my dress shopping - couldn’t trust anyone more. thanks for this pretty red dress mama. i love it and love you ❤️
Best time with nature in awhile. so happy right now. thank you husband. great anniversary weekend! ❤️🌲🐋 this is mako, member of j-pod. unfortunately, the j-pod which comprising 23 family members, haven’t had any successful orca births since 2015. you may have recently heard in the news of female orca tahlequah (j35). for over two weeks she has been carrying around the corpse of her newborn calf. scientists are very worried as she continues to suffer from grief, but a good sign over the weekend - she was no longer seen nudging the dead calf around and was also seen chasing a school of salmon with pod mates.
i’m still grounded at #seatac airport in seattle. reports of a #rogue pilot stealing turbo prop #plane. f-15’s reportedly launched. plane may have crashed now south of #seattle near fox island. no confirmation whether it was shot down. few reliable sources to confirm any of this. @abc7la
Pyrocumulonimbus have the potential to develop this afternoon over the #holyfire. these rare smoke clouds could create lightning storms. you’ll be able to tell if that is transpiring when you see bright white cloud tops billowing up and out of the smoke plumes. you’ll also notice sharp edges. the hot temps, low humidity, ample dry brush and unstable air help drive these conditions.
