Popped to a craft fair in inverurie today and bought a few things 😀 the crow greeting card is by catriona yates @catrionayates, an art print fields of gold by al buntin www.albuntin.com and a new harris tweed cover for my mobile by sam charles, facebook.com /samcharlesbags. it hasn’t stopped raining here all day, but i've had a good day and now settled in front of the fire and soon to have a wee gin 😀
Not art or design related but i always love a bit of research. this weekend started with me looking for old maps online of where i live for my partner as he loves a bit of metal detecting. this led to me starting to research the history of our wee croft, which led to researching a few of the other crofts and farms around us. got back to 1700's, discovered so much about the area, buildings no longer here, the meaning of our house name, a blacksmiths in our garden, far more people living in area than now, same families farming the land for decades and more, but i have the bug now and need to know even more 😊
After having fun with my paints and pens and creating abstracts i'm now back to digital and created a new vector image from another of my sea life sketches. that's a whale, seahorse, fish and octopus now, what could i do next?
I'm not doing neos (north east open studios) this year so i was able to get out at the weekend to meet local artists and makers and see their creations, i had a great time, so much talent out there 😁 it's been a busy week and the days have flown by so not been able to get out n about again, but this weekend i'll be out with my neos directory in my hand visiting as many artists as i can 😁
Since the dairy farm across the road changed to a livery i have been surrounded by beautiful horses. it's strange how as of yet i have not really been inspired to draw, paint or digitally create them. i have only created one digital image of a horse and i wasn't totally happy with it! i love watching them and how they interact with one another and i have a fascination for their eyes 'the windows to their soul's.' i have loads of photos and videos of them so maybe one day i'll go through a horsey creative phase 😁 i also have many photos of the cows that used to live in the fields and yes! i had my favourite cows lol and i created a mixed media and digital artwork of my fave cow lol
