what's the weirdest/most unsafe or incorrect form you've seen someone use for an exercise in the gym? ๐Ÿ’ฌโฌ‡๏ธ (make me laugh, peeps ๐Ÿ˜Ž)

i ask because this is one of the most commonly-performed exercises i see in the gym, and yet is so often done wrong ๐Ÿ˜“

i actually perform dumbbell curls every single time i train biceps. they're hard to beat in terms of optimizing range of motion, activating both heads of the muscle, and pure fun ๐Ÿ˜

beginners tend to use too much swing or momentum, will move the elbow too much and overuse the front delt, or will often use a weight that's either too heavy or too light.

regarding the specifics of proper form, peep the visual above ๐Ÿ‘€

additionally, it's important to understand that you can perform these a million different ways, such as:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ with an outward twist (supination)
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ with a neutral grip (hammer curls)
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ one arm at a time (unilateral)
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ seated (just seated...lol)
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ and so on.

there's no single correct method, but i've found that performing them standing with constant supinated grip and curling both arms simultaneously to result in the best contractions for me, personally.

you may find something else to be ideal. that's 100% ok. just watch your form, make sure to consciously use the biceps, and prioritize safety over all else โœŒ๐Ÿผ
