A communal effort to take care of each other: sharing wisdom and coping skills ⁣⁣

dissociation stems from being in survival mode and low-income bipoc are usually the most affected. it is a common reaction to stress or trauma that manifests as a disconnection from the current moment. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
- it can feel like you are floating outside of your body ⁣⁣
- it is harder to identify feelings ⁣⁣
- unable to distinguish pain and pleasure⁣⁣

Community care is medicine, we got each other-swipe to learn more. ⁣

we decided to focus on mutual aid because of the power of interdependence, we know that when we show up for each other, we thrive. ⁣

🌻si te sobra algo, dona. si necesitas algo lleva lo que necesites.⁣

🌻people asking for help is enough. no questions asked they don’t need to justify their humanity. some concerns around honesty and asking for more than what you need come to mind but at that point that’s not our responsibility. what they do with the resources is up to them. it’s just a matter of integrating a culture of abundance and interdependence. at this point, we can’t afford to uphold a mentality of scarcity or greediness because that’s the mentality of our oppressors. ⁣

we already inherit their problems and we don’t want to inherit their mentality that created them.

the resources, wisdom, and strength can be found in our communities. interdependence helps is bring them to light.

While we celebrate the abolition of slavery, we recognize that systems of slavery are still in place. its important to amplify voices that are leading change and do our part in dismantling those systems. ⁣

ways to celebrate juneteenth: support black restaurants, artists, music, movies, etc. especially today! (download the apps eatokra and iabb to find black owned restaurants near you!) ⁣

another way is to educate ourselves on this holiday and spread that info to our non english speaking family members. resources to do so are on our ig story right now! ⁣

Overcoming loneliness⁣~

🦋turn into active solitude: time that you feel in control of or a sense of purpose ⁣

talk to yourself in 3rd person "firulais feels like no one wants to hear from her". helps create separation from that emotional state. ⁣

3p’s ⁣
1) don't (personalize) take loneliness as a sign that anything is wrong with you.⁣

2) don't (permeate) there may be other things in your life that are going well. how can you magnify them? ⁣

3) this is not a (persistent) state, it won't last forever
