So this....this should never happen. you may not be able to do “it” but you can do something. #mondaymotivation#modificationmonday
i admit it. i modify. all sorts of things. not just my fitness but my plans, my food, my sleep and it’s ok.
today, for instance, i modified my treadmill in a group fitness class. here’s how i did it without feeling or looking like i gave up.
i don’t run fast. i don’t even walk fast. i have a tendency to travel from side to side on my treadmill so i am always aware of my balance. my legs don’t always get the message from my brain, in a timely manner, to go faster and that screws up my timing so here’s what i do. i focus on my form (balance) and instead of pushing faster i add a little incline.
my ending warm up pace is 4.5 and many times i use 4.0 with a 1.0% incline. nothing drastic just a little, manageable bump. my heart rate stays about the same but i don’t feel uncertain of myself. while many of my fellow fitness enthusiasts are running at 8, 9 or 10 i am hanging at around 4 or 5 always with a 1 or 2 percent incline.
admittedly, i sometimes wish i could run faster but i actually can’t and that has to be ok. if i am feeling good i can sometimes push to a 6 for maybe 30 seconds but that’s it.
here’s the point. you can always do something and don’t trick yourself into believing you can’t. you may not move as fast or be as strong but you can feel good and do your best.
i find the guts everyday to risk flying off the end of the treadmill (which has actually happened) and i pretty sure you can too!
This little girl lost her 2nd eye to glaucoma about two weeks ago and she is digging extra snuggles and lots of treats.
she had her stitches removed about a week ago and she is so much happier. which is incredible because she is such a happy nugget.
this #frenchbulldog is resilient, determined and lovable. she is a part of this crazy family and we love her so much.
bonus....she teaches us laughter, patience, and love every single day.
the hardest part for us humans ... it is hard to tell when she is sleeping! thank goodness she snores like a beautiful opera singer.
Ugh! man i still hate sharing this but i think you should know what i was hiding.
✅ i am in my 50’s
✅ i love to eat pizza
✅ i workout 5 days a week
✅ i do not like fitness
in october a friend and i were talking about the same f’n 20 pounds i have been trying to lose for 2 years, even with working out, i just couldn’t get rid of it! it was really frustrating but i hid it well and because i post about fitness people just assumed i was in shape.
she suggested i try this #liquidgold and i said, sure whatever, and figured it wouldn’t work. i tried it for about a week and then forgot about it (just didn’t bother) but in december i noticed it in my fridge and thought, well it didn’t work, i am still fighting this f’n 20 pounds. so i threw it away.
that spoon was calling my name and i knew i gave up on it, so i ordered it again.
this time (mid december) i stuck with it and my husband joined in.
guess what??? this crazy 🥄 worked! i have lost that 20 pounds and have even seen some abs!
we all get frustrated and most of us want a super quick fix and when we don’t see immediate results we quit. don’t quit. this has been just the solution i needed to kick my body into gear and i just couldn’t be happier! if you have been looking for a solution go ahead and slide into my inbox. i may have a coupon to share!
