Heavily influenced by her longtime obsession with manga and anime, multidisciplinary artist nathalie nguyen’s (@spicy.obj ) creative output exists at the intersection of tech and fashion. “i’ve been an illustrator for most of my life, but the last two years i’ve committed to 3d art,” says nathalie, who founded the project happy99 (@happy99.online ) with dominic lopez (@thedomsolo ).
a series of over-the-top virtual footwear designs first put them on the map. “it felt natural to create shoes in 3d because we just wanted to visualize our concepts without the burden of physical production,” says nathalie. from there, happy99 even put on a virtual fashion show. “the fashion show was an ambitious project to show the world that fashion can be consumed without physically owning it — which i believe is a pivotal concept in consumer cycles,” she says. #thisweekoninstagram
