Sparkles sunday

remembering how i used to have so much fun playing with sparkles when i was a child, especially during the mid autumn festival. decided to play with sparkles again last week for a blast into the past, and to see how it will turn out using the olympus om-d e-m1 mark ii live composite function!

I know this facade has been photographed like crazy as soon as the paintings were completed. truth be told, i have never taken a photo of this until now, even though i lived in that block. tampines was where i lived in since my secondary school days and where i first started trying out photography. back then (6 years ago to be exact!), life was so simple because all i had to worry about was scoring as.
life for me has definitely not been a bed of roses, and being the eldest child, i have the responsibility to provide for my family. having to work tirelessly and then to channel the earnings to invest heavily in equipment was a tough choice to make. many times, i forgot to put aside savings and to take care of my health.
there was once i had to go to the hospital for a minor operation to clear my insides (yes, literally) and i was told that if the insurance payout was insufficient, the remaining amount will be deducted from my medisave. as a self-employed individual, i know it’s not easy to have the discipline to voluntarily contribute to your medisave. but this incident reminded me that if i don’t do it now, i may regret even more in the future. .

Even though the skyline of singapore constantly evolves, chinatown has always retained its rich heritage through time. being in chinatown brings about a sense of nostalgia as it teleports me back to the good old days.

being born and raised in multiracial and multicultural singapore allows me to experience different cuisines from the different cultures in our cultural melting pot. growing up with a love for food, i am always hunting for good food.

although soup restaurant has moved on from their original stall in humble chinatown to now all over singapore, whenever i’m craving for a meal which would bring back a feeling of home i would head to soup restaurant - for that familiar taste of home with their local heritage food. i must say, it really brings back memories of a taste that i grew up eating from my grandparents' cooking too! .
