Do you ever just find yourself going thought the motions?
today in the beginning our circuit workout, i felt like i was just doing it to do it but not giving it my all. got my s**t together and pushed past that barrier. in life it’s so easy to go through the motions and to just get by. but no one great ever did that. push through and do each thing you do with purpose. looking at my mom push through when she’s going through chemo is my motivation to always give it me all, if she’s doing it—i better be d**n doing it too. s/o to @baseballmom2416 for always keeping me motivated 💛 #teamhnsfitness#transphormation#thankfulthursday
I think there is a huge misconception in the fitness community that you need to train all the time, 7 days a week #nodaysoff blah blah blah.
when in reality, that’s the opposite. rest days are essential for growth and recovery. without proper rest, we do harm to our body. i usually train about 6 days a week and have one off day. however if i’m feeling extra sore, i’ll take that extra rest day because you can’t grow your muscles if they can’t recover. with that being said, you’re putting your metabolism in damage by overtraining and never taking time for everything to regroup. .
so next time you feel guilty about not training, stop yourself and know that it’s needed! today i’m catching up on a lot of emails, doing some client work and reading my new favorite book “cracking the metabolic code”. #restday#teamhnsfitness#goldendoodlesofinstagram

Had one of the best workouts i’ve had in a long time bc 1. i’m so relieved that i passed part 1 of my national chiropractic boards !!! and 2. because i can focus on my training since i’ve got a few weeks off from school so i can dial it in and go above and beyond for myself and my clients..
main movement today was box squats 5x12.
the rest of the accessories were 4x10-12.

Movement is the best medicine. after taking 10 exams and having my last 2 left, i’ve been feeling just tired and burnt out. .

Stretching is something i often neglect because i just want to get in, crush my workout and then move on the the next thing. i’m always go go go. but i did make it a goal to consciously stretch more post workout. even if it’s 5 minutes. .
set short goals for yourself because once you keep reaching them, you not only feel good but you’re motivated to keep doing more. .

I get a ton of questions from people asking if they should still take a post workout shake after a run, hiit, or spin classes.
personally, for me i always do whether i’m doing weight training or after i teach spin or go on a run. during those activities you are still breaking down muscle tissue and the only way to best build them back up is a high quality whey isolate.
