Does anyone else think of that one scene in the movie “matilda” when they see chocolate cake or is that just me??? anyways, this decadent little guy is up for grabs at our bryn mawr location today. anyone want to take him home???
What's your all time favorite pasta sauce/ topper? let me know below! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 i've always been a creamy sauce kinda person. my number one suggestion this season for all you veggies out there (or anyone like me simply trying to limit the saturated f*t in their diet) is to test out different spices blended with your favorite fall vegetables! cauliflower, squash, and pumpkin are all in season right now and can be used to make a thick and creamy sauce. this is a blend of cauliflower and pumpkin, along with various spices (topped over my favorite @eatbanza shells)!
Pretty much everyday right now my kids ask me what my ‘secret power’ is. they’re obsessed with finding theirs- whether it be door-opening magic, animal-whispering magic, turning rocks into diamond magic (more of that please!). it’s been a good question to ask myself. cos my answer is my story. everything that has happened in my life, the lessons i’ve learnt and the paths i’ve taken have made me who i am.
motherhood in general can put a massive twist in your story, but being a mum to a child with food allergies/anaphylaxis is an even more dramatic plot thickener so to speak.
for a long time i felt like i was just a character in the story- stuff was happening to me. i didn’t have control, i was just reacting and ‘doing my best’. recently though i’ve switched tactics and am consciously changing it up. finding choices wherever i can, making decisions about how i will respond to certain things and actually writing my own story rather than being a ‘bit character’. i know this doesn’t have anything to do with food, but it has everything to do with allergies and the mental journey it’s taken me on.
i was talking recently with a friend who was saying life gives you the lessons you need to learn. and loving a child with food allergies and being entirely responsible for their well-being has been a massive lesson for me.
acceptance, sitting with ‘not knowing’ the future, advocacy and assertiveness, the incredible things one can do in a kitchen with not much... i’d love to know what you guys think about this- even just hearing what your superpower is 😉- this allergy community is pretty packed full of heroes!!

Another food post. #tacotuesday at my house tonight - these delicious roasted cauliflower tacos with chipotle romesco. recipe courtesy of my other favourite plant based food blogger, #minimalistbaker 😋
Whipped up this clean stir-fry in less than 15 minutes tonight. if you have the ingredients available, like prepped veggies, it’s so easy to eat well! none of these ingredients are weird or hard to find. this is a deliciously healthy meal that will absolutely not bust the budget. 5 stars from everyone in this house! •
“clean in 15” stir fry
1# ground beef (we use grass-fed)
1 crown broccoli, chopped
1/2 head cabbage, sliced*
2 medium carrots, julienned (sliced thinly)*
2 green onions, sliced
2-3 tsp minced onion (about 3 cloves)
3 tbsp coconut aminos
1-2 tbsp fish sauce (we used aip compliant sauce)
1 tsp onion powder
salt to taste *sub out cabbage and carrots for a bag of pre-cut slaw mix! •
brown meat with 1 tbsp coconut aminos. add in garlic, green onions, carrots, and broccoli and cook for 5-10 minutes until crisp tender and fragrant. add in cabbage, the rest of the coconut aminos, fish sauce, onion powder, and salt. sauté until cabbage is just barely cooked, about 5 minutes. serve immediately! serves 4. tag me if you make it!!
Happy national boss day to me!💫
today, i’m grateful i believed in myself and took a leap of faith! it’s an incredible feeling when you text your dad a picture of your bonus cheque from your first month with the company, and he calls you immediately to congratulate you because it’s that good😭
whatever’s going on in your life... take a chance on yourself! believe that you have the power to accomplish whatever you set your mind to!
the universe is just waiting for you to own it!
