The university's zoological museum 🏛 from 1871 was the first building in denmark which was constructed solely for museum purposes. 99 years later, in 1970, the artefacts of the museum were moved to its present location at north campus. 🦏🐁🦋 the original building in the old university quarter was turned into offices for the university's central administration. 📷 photo by @birchtina
Galleries at the changjiang art museum in taiyuan, china are arranged around a full-height open void, serving as an organisational anchor. visitors begin at the base of the void, travelling upward via a spiral staircase through the galleries, looking into the void through apertures at different levels. ⠀
inside, @vectorarchitects ensured natural light is filtered and softened by skylights that p*******e through a coffered ceiling beam.⠀

i flew to milano, took the train to venezia, back to verona, to bologna, met up with my mum @pirjo and kjell in firenze. from there we drove down to siena and castiglione del lago before we arrived at poggio aquilone in marsciano, umbria.
i don't remember why, but i climbed a church tower in every town i visited. the views were amazing.
that vacation was when i fell in love with italy, the architecture, food and nature, including people.
Morning, tall building fans! how are we today? happy weekend!! today’s #tallbuildingoftheday is the don majestic hotel in uruguay, captured in this sunny snap taken by @guevara_ottonello!
one of the most important concepts in the design of the 54m building was to create a sculptural an unique architectural shape, trying to create a punta del este icon. light and transparency, as a pure and curved shape, are main aspects of the project.
the project arose in untypical conditions: it was supposed to be built in two different places - near pszczyna and in the outskirts of berlin. as the second location was still to be chosen, the main goal became to design a house that fits every plot. this is how the idea of standard house emerged, first such an attempt in the kwk promes history. round shape of the house makes it easily suitable to any given shape of the site.
freedom in the choice of a roof type makes it universal in terms of landscape conditionings, while flexibility of interior plan adopts it to needs of an individual family.
sustainability is the main point of this house idea: it was designed to respect the environment by choosing natural building materials and using renewable energy sources. the use of prefab wooden construction allowed to reduce the building costs and still keep good quality. owing to the optimal shape (circle), good thermal insulation, elimination of thermal bridges and renewable energy installations the house can be called a passive one. #kwkpromes#robertkonieczny#housing#ecologicalhouse#standardhouse
