Hope your day was as beautiful as this peacock!
while in malaysia, we were able to visit the world's largest enclosed aviary and chanced upon this guy shaking his tail feathers. *fun fact, peacocks don't just flair their feathers for looks. when they raise their tail, they also can send out an "infrasound" that is too low for humans to hear. this sound may communicate territory maintenance and act as a warning to approaching peacocks. it's also thought to aid in mate selection as males with large, healthy tails communicate their strength by sight and sound to distant peafowls. maybe peacocks aren't as vain as we once thought..nature is neat.
