se osservi lo sguardo del tuo cane, come puoi ancora stentare a credere che non abbia un’anima ?”

Chickens are truly wonderful creatures. they have distinct personalities and can outmaneuver one another. they know their place in the pecking order, and can reason by deduction, an ability that humans develop by the age of seven. chicken intelligence is underestimated. they are perceived as lacking most of the psychological characteristics we recognize in other intelligent animals and are typically thought of as possessing a low level of intelligence. however, research shows the contrary is true.
chickens perform memory tests similar to that of most primates under similar conditions. they possess self-control when it comes to holding out for a better food reward and they are able to self-assess their position in the pecking order. these two characteristics are indicative of self-awareness.
chicken communication is also quite complex, and consists of a large repertoire of different visual displays and at least 24 distinct vocalizations. they possess the complex ability of referential communication, which involves signals such as calls, displays and whistles to convey information. this ability requires some level of self-awareness and is possessed by highly intelligent and social species, such as primates.
chickens perceive time intervals and can anticipate future events. like many other animals, they demonstrate their cognitive complexity when placed in social situations requiring them to solve problems. they are able to experience a range of complex negative and positive emotions, including fear, anticipation and anxiety. they also possess a simple form of empathy called emotional contagion. not only do individual chickens have distinct personalities, but mother hens also show a range of individual maternal personality traits which appear to affect the behavior of their chicks.
although we should never value someone’s life based on their intelligence, it’s clear that chickens are worthy of much more respect than most people give them. they are just as worthy to live free from pain and suffering as any other animal. please keep chickens in your heart and off your plates. #notyournugget#cluckcarnism#chickpeasoverchicken#chicksdigme#cluckoffherbreasts

🚨it's my turn to die.🚨
when it's time for the pigs to enter the k**l floor they are prodded onto a narrow walkway, or chute, on which they walk single file to the killing floor. the animals at the rear of the chute hear the screams of the pigs ahead, who have arrived at the slaughter line, as well as the shouts of men working on the noisy production line. the sounds get louder - factory sounds, the noise of power tools and machinery, burst of compressed air... "when pigs smell blood, they don't want to go, i've seen hogs beaten, whipped, kicked in the head to get them up to the restrainer. one night i saw a driver get so angry at a pig he broke her back with a piece of board. i've seen hog drivers take their electric prods and shove it up the pig's a*s to get them to move.-quote from a slaughterhouse worker.
farmed animals are supposed to be stunned and rendered unconscious before they are actually killed. however some pigs remain conscious while they are strung upside down by their legs and shackled, and they kick and struggle as they are moved along the conveyor belt to have their throats slit. because the speed at which the animals are supposed to be stunned and killed, and because slaughterhouse workers are often ineffectively trained, a number of pigs may also survive throat cutting and remain conscious when they arrive at the next station, where they are dropped into the scalding water. "these pigs... hit the water and start screaming and kicking. sometimes they thrash so much they kick water out of the tank... there's a rotating arm that pushes them under, no chance for them to get out. i'm not sure if they burn to death before they drown, but it takes them a couple of minutes to stop thrashing. literally boiled alive!"
