Morning rituals are such a healing part of life for me. they allow me to create sacred space each morning so that i am better prepared to meet the world from a centered place of my most authentic self.
first, it starts out with some major cuddling for at least a few minutes. when i get out of bed i do some oil pulling (i use about a tbsp of coconut oil) and while doing that i fill out my @fiveminutejournal this helps me focus on what i'm grateful for and what things i look forward to that day - it basically helps me to direct my mind to the infinite flow of abundance in my life. i follow that up with some yoga and deep breathing exercises. i then head to the washroom to do some self care rituals.
i use the bamboo cloth and hot water to steam my face, and activate my lymphatic system by rubbing under my b*****s (basically where your bra sits) about 20 times back and forth. this allows the lymph to open up and detoxify. then, i spray the rose lavender toner on my face, use the under eye serum, and dab on a tiny bit of the hydrate facial oil. after all that, i'm good to go!
these adornments and a ton of other incredible finds will be available @littlemodernmarket this weekend!
@nourishbistro is one of my absolute favourite places to dine when in banff, ab. i first found out about them when they were in a s***p mall - the smell from a neighbouring vietnamese restaurant was overwhelming, but hidden in the corner was this little gem. it was the most delicious gmo-free, local, organic food i had had in a long time. they prioritize getting their ingredients as locally as possible and support organic farmers whenever they can. their menu is absolutely incredible. my love of nachos was amped up a notch after i had their 27 ingredient nachos, which includes things like strawberries, dill pickles, & quinoa. they also have poutine, "holy moly ravioli", and delicious drinks like kombucha floats. it has everything you could dream of when it comes to eating holistic food, and i love it. you should check it out... going there for a dinner date also gives you an excuse to take a beautiful drive through the mountains! photo: @isaacpetersphotography
Turning self-care into a ritual is something i do daily, especially around skin care, so i have a nightly facial ritual. it starts out by putting a bamboo washcloth under hot water so the cloth is steaming. i put it on my face for a few moments to open the pores, then start to work the bamboo cloth in circular motions. it’s a little rough on one side, and because my skin is so sensitive it’s all i really need to exfoliate. then, i apply a couple sprays of my rose/lavender toner. i follow that up with a few drops of my hydrate facial oil and rub it in with circular motions. i then do a series of 12 facial massages then finish up by using the facial reflexology tool i got from @pranicforest. it only takes a few minutes, but it’s a few minutes spent solely focusing on caring for myself.
@libertine_fragrance is aromatic heaven. using high quality essential oils, absolutes, and aroma materials, they create small batch unisex perfumes made to inspire the search of beauty and truth. you can tell that josh, the creator, is extremely passionate about creating scents that are intricate, complex and beautiful. they smell absolutely divine. my favourite is probably the “witch doctor” – it’s bitter, smoky and fresh. i really, really, really love the cedar wood and wormwood mixed with ylang ylang. but to be honest, i love them all.
@tribedemama a global community of woman, whether they’re mothers, daughters or wives. it’s a platform where women can share about their lives and go to gain inspiration and insight around the issues that we as women deal with. a hub for creativity, connection, collective support and empowerment, it helps one to embrace the journey of what it means to be a woman. i feel like i can gather insights for myself from other women who have gone through similar experiences or are in similar circumstances to me. as well, it offers different perspectives on things that we as women can have many emotions about, such as childbirth, marriage, or family. i’d say that it’s crucial for women to embrace themselves, and to learn about other women, their perspectives, and embrace them as well. my fav article from this issue (vol. 9, “womb”) is called “womb love as lineage work”. @aquarian_dawn shares about wombs being the root of our being, both literally and metaphorically. it talks about the grounding place of female strength and intuition: the heart and the womb. our internal guidance system and how it operates in the world ❤️❤️ the female body is just so ✨✨✨i am so grateful to have this community of sisters.
This mala by the enchantress @chalicegrove. it is a poem woven into fine jewels. it embraces my heart and gently gives strength to my words. it was made with the beautiful intention of a sister, a friend, a woman who inspires me daily. besides the deep love that inspired this sacred adornment, it is one of the most beautiful pieces i have ever worn. thank you sister. i am still unpacking all this means to me ✨✨✨
