I don’t tend to post very many #wip shots, cause i feel like they aren’t particularly exciting. my finished pieces have a lot of bright colors, but until i get to that stage...it honestly looks a little boring 🤷♀️
but! today i thought i’d share with you a process shot of a piece i’m working on, since i know i get a lot of questions about the different steps a painting goes through and thought this super rough, in-progress piece would be the best way to talk about it!
i almost always start in pencil first. i like to sketch out the rough shape of everything before going in with ink. you’ll see there are just pencil-drawn blobs and circles for what will eventually be rocks along the waterfall. once i like the placement, i’ll start adding the outlines and some details with ink. my next step will be to finish this, add more details like trees (aka those random vertical lines you see right now 😂), and then finish it with some watercolor 💕
when you create art, what’s your process? does it look something like mine, or are you one of those people that just starts with ink and goes with it? (i’m envious if you are 😜)
Sometimes we don’t always realize that all these things we are going through are little learning experiences! everytime i’m going through something rough i like to tell myself to learn from the situation. next time you question why things are going a certain way, tell yourself, “learn from this” 🌹☀️🌱💚i’m not a smarty pants or anything but i just felt like sharing my way of thinking!!! you are so important, and you are so loved!! 💐🌸🍄🌱❤️🧡💛💚💙💜#collage#collageart#sketchbook#sketch#doodle#drawing#illustration#vogue#magazine#artofinstagram#artoftheday#artistsoninstagram#art#analogcollage#cutandpaste#
