#sciencenerdalert 🤓...... so i did this thing for #nationalgeographic ... its a #genomemapping project to determine our genetic origins/route since the traceable beginning (190,000 years ago with mitochondrial ‘eve’, who we all share a genetic component with, apparently proving we all came from the same singular ancestress located in africa).. turns out; i’m actually #jewish 🤷🏻♀️😂... being able to determine that my #haplotype (specific genetic line) literally began in #iran / #italy 150,000 years ago (making it ancient af 😵) was the most amazing thing. in that time; the #romans were at war with the #jewish... and the #italians fought with the romans, #obvs... therefore, some roman had it out with my jewish female ‘founder’... creating my family line. this portion of the sequencing/dating can only be done (or most effectively) through #mitochondrialdna, which makes it my moms moms moms moms (etc x infinity) mom... i highly recommend partaking in this project, i was given a break down of the exact route taken by those with my haplotyoe all the way through today. as well as those in history who shared a #geneticfounder with myself at certain times. #nicolascopernicus#alberteinstein#ashkenazijews#ashkenazi#natgeo#genomeproject
✡️ jewish status passes through the mother. thus if your mother is a jew, you are one too. is this belief in the tanakh though? absolutely. the primary defense of this doctrine can be found in devarim (deuteronomy) 7:3-4: “don’t intermarry with them — don’t give your daughter to his son, and don’t take his daughter for your son. for he will turn your children away from following me in order to serve other gods. if this happens, the anger of hashem will flare up against you, and he will quickly destroy you.” this is expanded on in ezra 10:3: “we should make a covenant with our g-d to send away all these wives, along with their children, in obedience to the advice of hashem and of those who tremble at the mitzvah of our g-d; let us act in accordance with the torah.” the children of israelite fathers and gentile women were not considered yisroel and were cast out. (but what about moses and solomon who children with non-israelite wives? it is taught that the wives converted to judaism.) the idea of matrilineal descent is also logical. children are more biologically connected to their mothers. they develop in their wombs for nine months, and for their first years of life, they are raised by the mothers. what about patrilineal descent? judaism believes in that too, but only within the case of passing on tribal identity (numbers 1:18) - and even then the child must still have a jewish mother. for example, if a levite jewish man and a jewish woman (let’s say from the tribe of judah) had a kid, that kid would be a jew (because his mother is) and a levite (because his father is). but if the levite man had a child with a gentile woman, that child would neither be jewish or levite.
The moroccan quarter was a 770-year-old neighbourhood in the southeast corner of the old city of jerusalem. it was an extension of the muslim quarter to the north and was founded by a son of saladin ad-din, the first sultan of egypt and syria and the founder of the ayyubid dynasty, in the 12th century. in 1967 during the six-day war, 650 residents were told to vacate their homes by israeli forces and the quarter was bulldozed.
Super excited my dna results came in! #wild#whoami#foundme#23andme#results#whowouldofthought#wow#findingme#africian#ashkenazi#jewish#scandanavian#irish#british#german#french#neanderthal#heritage #blessed🙏
finding out where i came from has been a life long dream of mine. as a child i would ask my parents and grandparents what is our family heritage? my grandmother from ireland was very proud to talk about her irish lineage. my mother would tell me i am german. other family members did not see it was a big deal, there were bits and pieces of lineage through out the years.
i knew there was more to me than irish and german. finding out all of my dna where my family came from is phenomenal and surprising. i am fascinated to find out i come from africa, ashkenazi jewish, scandinavian, british, irish, german, french.
i am on a quest to find my ancestors lineage💙💙💙
