I may not blog a lot anymore and i can’t tout myself as a massive influencer with ginormous unbelievable numbers in the social media world, but i know blackberry earned a lot business through my advocacy and many hotels and entertainment locales across north american are receiving new customers through my recommendation. i will admit, i can’t sell an instant p*t to save my life. why? because it doesn’t excite me, although i do love it at 4pm on a monday.
i’ll never forget my blackberry experience as a prime example. all blackberry had to do, when they hired a new pr firm, was to provide a current list of advocates when they were planning their next event. for me i don’t think i’ve ever received a phone from blackberry, but i sure loved being invited to events as an appreciation for being an advocate.
i was mortified to hear that the only party i wasn’t invited to had one of my favourite north american performers and a plethora of iphone users. i was crushed and they lost me. i always loved my blackberry but their pr firm’s sheer lack of research and ball dropping was shocking and left me exploring new options. brands, always be very aware of advocates big and small, their influence goes much farther than what you see on the screen!
sometimes you don’t have to be a celebrity to influence a buy for the brands you work with. (and believe me, many celebs bring 0 roi when it lacks enthusiasm.). everyone involved has to be authentic and enthusiastic! influencers, i’d love to hear from you!
I wouldn’t normally go down this road however this company advertises on instagram - which is where i found them. here’s my psa: @customgrace9 has deplorable customer service practices! i placed my first order with them 3 weeks ago with the anticipation of giving a valentines day gift and although my order was lost on their end, it would not arrive in time for the holiday and my many attempts to cancel the order - which is not an easy feat considering the only way to reach them is through fb messenger (btw, they do not reply “almost instantly” - they still haven’t seen my message from monday) & email which is poorly manned they refuse to accept my return. in any other circumstance i would never think to return a customized item however the fact that you can not track an order coupled with their overall inability to communicate has forced the issue. i will be returning the item when i get home, disputing the charge on my credit card and steering clear of this “company” going forward. #customerservicefail#learnfrommyexperience#disappointed#badbusiness#socialmediaspeaks #24/7supportisacrock #badpr
