📝 @bespokeaficionado the 4 cs of sartorial quality. let’s call a spade a spade – pussyfooting will not do, as there are throngs of charlatans who would unscrupulously use the term “bespoke” to deceive the general public into purchasing their inferior wares. bespoke, in the pure sense of the word, means an item you have commissioned from an artisan to be handcrafted for you, with your specifications and requirements. in the sartorial connotation of the term, it refers to an article of clothing that is predominantly hand tailored by expert traditional bespoke master tailors, with specific body and subsequent interim garment measurements taken from the given client. every tom, d**k and harriet seem to call themselves “master tailor” nowadays unfortunately, when in reality they couldn’t do a sleeve buttonhole by hand if tested, let alone an entire garment. there is a general sense of advantage being taken of the overall sartorial ignorance of the general public by a plethora of snake oil salesmen who would stop at nothing to push pure, unadulterated rubbish of a product under the guise of “bespoke”. one of the main goals of bespoke aficionado is to elucidate the matter and provide ample education for making a sound sartorial choice in your future additions to your wardrobe. if one is in the market for an engagement ring for instance, there are the “4 cs of diamond quality” – here are the “4 cs of sartorial quality” – the universal method of assessing the quality of sartorial garments, anywhere in the world. continue reading: link in bio❗️
