How is motherhood supposed to look?
you're reheating your coffee☕ for the 4th time, your kid is climbing the bookshelf🤸, the cat is meowing🐈 bc she's hungry and you just realized lunch is burning 🔥as you pour catfood into the dish. you rush to turn down the burner and trip over a toy, causing you to fly face first into the side of the fridge, knocking over the coffee you just reheated.😒😔 sound familiar?
this is life.
you want to curse, or scream...maybe cry. this isn't what motherhood was "supposed" to look like. you thought you'd have loss the 30 lbs of baby weight by now, your laundry is spilling over the basket and your mail is scattered across the table. maybe this isn't the picture perfect #momlife you'd envisioned or even seen on social media but it's yours. maybe you stress bc your kids get too much screen time while you build your business or as your paying bills after a 10 hour shift, but stop and take a breath. embrace this mess and take ownership of it. maybe the perfectly filled eyebrows and matched p***y and bra sets you sported before motherhood are not your beautiful in this season of your life, but this is your beautiful now. don't remember when you last shaved your legs? yeah, me neither. the beauty of mess, of chaos and of love. so much of our time is spent imagining what our lives should look like that we forget to count our blessings, we forget that our kids are only this little once and that we are leaving them life lessons that turn into our legacy as they grow.
mama, you are doing great!!! do not let the highlight reel/filters make you feel you aren't worthy.
i am so learning this lesson right now. things take longer to get done, things usually don't go as planned anymore, i'm always cleaning but my house is never spotless, things break and fall apart in a home and they are expensive to fix, married couples fight and don't always like eachother, kids tantrum, no matter what your parenting style. life is messy. but it's my/your mess. i'm learning to embrace it and live it and stop judging myself or thinking i'm doing it wrong. whodafuk knows what they are doing? parenthood is hard. be kind to yourself today mommas❤❤❤
"sacred sexuality is a slow, complicated, enriching, courageous, exploratory experience that carries at its core the principles of mindfulness: non-doing, non-striving, patience, and presence. it’s a practice where two people in a committed relationship learn to place connection and curiosity above outcome, which means that lying down n***d together is just as “valid” sexually as making love. it means recognizing that sexuality, because it touches on every aspect of our beings, will unleash worlds inside of us, both conscious and unconscious." @huffpost on sacred sexuality.
