After such a long time being exhausted, weak and lethargic your body is so grateful to get fuel to make into energy. to know you can give yourself a break, take some weight from your shoulders and just be is so freeing! to rest and then feel the benefit of energy afterwards is totally worth it.

No one but you should decide what to do with your body - or your life! not even if your body is larger than society prescribes ♥️ it’s taken me 28 years to realise and i still have a long way to go, but i’m slowly getting there ✨✨

in our fatphobic society, too many people think they’re entitled to comment on the food, exercise, and health choices of people in larger bodies, as though those bodies were public property. but that’s total bs. you are allowed to exist in the body you have and take care of it in the ways you choose, without having to endure stigmatizing, unsolicited opinions about it. you don’t have to shrink your body or restrict your eating for anyone. --------------------------------------------
“anyone" includes health professionals, too, by the way—and it even includes me and the rest of the anti-diet community. yes, i share what i know about diet culture and how it influences our choices, how fatphobic ideas have shaped the medical and scientific communities’ views on weight, how dieting and restriction leads to disordered eating, and more. i try to help you be informed about the forces that affect your thinking about your body. but at the end of the day, your body is your body, and you get to decide what to do with it. no one else has the right to make those decisions for you. --------------------------------------------

Ah, the gym. we’ve had a strained relationship. first, it was a place where i trained with my rowing family. where i felt safe, had big goals, learnt the highs of fitness, and the success and failure of sport. fast forward to uni and the gym became a place of punishment and torture for me. 🙅🏽♀️ where an eating disorder bullied me to go harder, faster, further. nothing was good enough. everything was calculated. 📉 i pushed myself so hard it often ended in tears. tears because i still felt worthless walking out the door. 🙍🏽♀️ when i workout now, i manage those thoughts very carefully. i move, lift and stretch to feel strong, powerful and proud. 💛 proud that my body survived what i put it through. proud that it still allows me to dance at 4am with my friends, and go on sunday’s family walks. 🙏🏼 you know what breaks my heart? 💔 seeing all the girls, boys, women and men working out for the wrong reasons. trying to become something they’re not, maybe something they don’t even want to be. perhaps to impress someone? for validation? because someone told them they should? a friend, family member, social media? 💭 i can see straight through the pain, the self-consciousness, the internal battles. people are scared, sad, lost. i know because i’ve been there. 🙋🏽♀️ if there is anywhere you should feel unstoppable, it’s the gym. 💁🏽♀️ moving, growing, living. for your physical and mental health. 💆🏽♀️ celebrate your body❕it is so clever. what it’s capable of should b**w your mind. 🤯 you hear me?! whether you’re out there walking on the treadmill 🚶🏽♀️, in downward dog 🧘🏽♀️or bench pressing 150kg 🏋🏽♀️, be proud and love your god d**n body. 🗣 “i love my body!!” who cares what it looks like, what it can or can’t do. it’s yours. it’s your home. 🏡 treat and love it right. we are all on different journeys with different goals, but❕goal number one should always be to love. your. body.❗️when was the last time you thanked your abs for all the laughs, your legs for the times they waited in line at your favourite food truck, your lungs for the drunken singalongs, your arms for cutting sick shapes. 🕺🏻🙈 cuddle it!! love it!! scars, lumps, bumps, spots and all!! 🙏🏼
. #محدثه_رمضانی@leonzcohr 💎
