Well... how did i get here?
to be honest, i didn't expect that i would become a self-employed mason contractor. i always thought i'd end up as a celebrity dentist, or a college professor with a phd in the recherché collections of old new york eccentrics. one way, or another, i found myself working on priceless art and monuments, i moved back to rochester, bought some weird cars, and tried my hand at high-end interior design. nothing short of a wild ride, that's for sure.
anyway, when i got burned out from all of that, i had plans to go back to school, but temporarily defaulted to masonry. for some reason, i like this line of work, and my clients all love me. what's even more important than all that is how i found a mentor in my late 20s who i could connect with. a true friend and role model. while the circumstances of me taking over this business were not ideal, that's not to say that i'm not ready to, in the words of el-p, "turn this hooptie into a hovercraft." so here i am, 31 years old, with as much gray hair as my cocker spaniel, running a trowel trade operation across rochester and wny. not once did this ever cross my mind, but i'd be lying if i didn't say how awesome it feels to be where i am at this exact moment. i'm way stoked, and special thanks to everyone who showed their support for me as i worked super hard to purchase this business over the last year or so.
