Happy friday #alignedtribe 🌈
today i’m sharing my healing lung cleaning and stress clearing technique called:
the flat belly breathe ✌🏻 this is a powerful tool to help reboot your metabolism, improve your digestion, flatten and strengthen your belly. plus it helps clear emotional energy in the guts to reconnect to your deepest gut instincts again and even regulate appetite. 🔑
this technique helps rid your body of stagnant co2 and toxins. your body releases 70% of its toxins and even f*t which gets converted to c02 through breathing, so when you breathe deeply you're helping your body detoxify more efficiently ♻️ this is a pillar of my work and i’ve been using for years with clients and myself....it’s woven through all of my sequences.
how to do it? 🔈turn up your volume so you can hear my breathing and follow along. 🔈
steps: inhale slowly to fill up the lungs for six counts, and think about expanding the lungs three-dimensionally opening up the ribs. exhale through the mouth for a count of eight (like your steaming up a window). think about closing off the ribs to flush the stagnant co2 and toxic air.
think of really connecting to your laughing and coughing muscles to activate your transverse abdominus or tva
repeat 10-20xs and feel a renewed sense of energy, clarity and strength!
for extra benefit do this by a plant 🌱☀️ cozy outfit @aloyoga 💫💗
I can't believe i almost forgot to post this! so one of my friends helps assistant teach his daughters religion class at the church they attend, and they were discussing mother teresa that week. their assignment was to write get well cards to someone in the hospital. my friends daughter, who's 6 years old yelled out to the class: "let's write them to nick bell" of course then the class was like who's nick bell and she explained how i have 3 dogs and that i'm a friend of her dads who they've been praying for before they go to bed. (oh my heart) anyways so back when i was in the hospital earlier this month, my friend hit me up one night and brought me all of these get well cards from a group of 6 year olds complete with drawings of all three of our dogs 🐕 a rainbow 🌈, pills 💊, the 🌍 and even the kitty 🐱 made it on to one of the cards. thanks annabelle! •

Health update: having kind of a rough day. went into the doctors today to measure my lung function again, and it was up slightly from 27% to 32% but...we were hoping for a bigger jump. <>
32% is what i blew on november 2nd which landed me in the hospital in the first place. so i'm kinda right back where i started. which means i have to extend the home iv antibiotics. my body is tired, these drugs are heavy and hard for my heart and veins to carry, but they're also healing. <>
haven't had a day yet since being out of the hospital where i haven't hit a wall at some point and needed sleep immediately. i'm falling asleep sitting up (which i never do) and i d**n near fell asleep during the jays game saturday. although that could've been their lack of cohesive play that day. <>
still, i'm exhausted from having to hook up or unhook ivs every 4 hours all day, in the middle of the night and let's pray i don't brake my phone from hating this alarm that notifies me every time i need another dose. <>
but to end on a good note, the poetry slam at the prison is tonight so i'm excited and pumped for that. i won't be able to do much because i've also lost my voice, but words will never express how much joy this evening is going to bring us. cheers <> #riseandjustbealive#wontyoulendyourlungstome#cysticfibrosisawareness#breathewithme#untilitsdone #cfwarrior
I’m here with you. i’m breathing with you. sometimes words don’t come. sometimes words aren’t enough. sometimes words get caught in your throat and you can’t seem to find the right words. but you are breathing.
take a deep breath in to a count of 5.
hold it in for a count of 5.
exhale slowly for a count of 5.
hold at the bottom of your exhale for a count of 5.
continue until you feel a little more peace inside yourself.
even 10% more.
