Back in 2014, in my @nivrana instagram account, i posted this image as the first of a week-long series on a different take on caricatures of musicians/band names. can you name this band?
i have since changed the concept on this by using minifigures in majority of the images. all the original photos only had white backgrounds so it was difficult to sort the musical era.
This next tip is brought to you by brett wilson, he is one half of toy photographers on g+ as well as one quarter of brickstameet.
tips apart from the obvious tips of “have fun” and “experiment” the biggest tip i can share is “learn”. researching some basic photography techniques like “rule of thirds”, “depth of field”, “bokeh” etc. can greatly assist with shooting lego.
shooting outdoors is cool; shooting outdoors with others is even cooler. and while you’re out there, ask questions, observe others’ techniques, and share yours.
learn from your failures. for every shot i’m happy with, there’s a multitude of ones that i’m not! those shots could simply be deleted, but i prefer to study them and figure out what wasn’t right, and how i can avoid that next time.
