i took you in without much thought;
a tangle of uncertainty mixed with
eyes of excitement.
or maybe that was me.
and i wasn’t tangled so much as
i had become an enigma
to even myself,
but that was okay because
you took me in so we
could unwind it together.
it hasn’t gotten much better,
but it isn’t all that worse either.
our messes have become
one in the same; a piece of you
for a piece of me, building something
entirely new and undeniably us.
“the ways of the wind: a metaphor”
how beautiful are the songs it sings,
understood by few in this world
do you hear its songs?
do you understand its stories?
these stories that man cannot tell,
they are whispered by the wind,
if only you’ll listen.
stories of days past,
of battles won,
of those we’ve lost,
and of things to come.
you say that the wind is silent,
but you never truly tried to hear it.
calm your heart &
the ways of the wind are only for those
who are willing to understand. *don’t forget to check out my new poetry book on amazon: thoughts and metaphors. link in my bio.*
