Happy #saturday!
eating #breakfast everyday isn't easy. on weekdays you might be rushing out the door to get to work or school. on weekends, you might sleep in until the afternoon or be hungover from having too much fun the night before.

for the coming week, let's aim at having breakfast at least 5 times a week. if you don't have a great appetite, just having a piece of #fruits or a cup of #yogurt is a good start - just try not to skip it!

a year-long randomized clinical trial has found that a low-fat diet and a low-carb diet produced similar weight loss and improvements in metabolic health markers. furthermore, insulin production and tested genes had no impact on predicting weight loss success or failure. thus, you should choose your diet based on personal preferences, health goals, and sustainability.

what does this study tell us?
the results of this study contribute to a large body of evidence indicating that, for weight loss, neither low-fat nor low-carb is superior (as long as there’s no difference in caloric intake or protein intake).

no matter if you are high carb, low carb or no carb 😂!

there is no “best diet”. both low-fat and low-carb diets can work for weight loss; the healthy diet that will work for you is the one you can stick to.

✅energy balance is the primary driving factor to weight loss or weight gain. the insulin response to a meal will never supersede the weight loss affects of a caloric deficit.👈

- insulin is a regulatory hormone, it regulates the volume of glucose to the bloodstream.
- even when insulin is low, you can still store fat
- yes, insulin + caloric surplus = weight gain (whether you eat low carb, high carb or no carb)
- if energy intake is lower than energy expenditure. no matter how high the carbs in your diet = weight loss.
- your insulin levels & the amount of carbs you eat have little to do with weight loss.

🏀 are you a yo yo dieter? i was. i would lose weight, gain some of it back, lose a little, gain it all back, etc. that was my life for so long

☕️ so sit down, get comfy, while i tell you the story of a yo yo dieter. -
🔹it always starts strong - with the best of intentions. then the overly restrictive diet kicks in, and some temporary success is had. -
🍎a false sense of victory seeps in and the mindset of food restriction becomes worse because it seems to be working. but when life gets stressful, and you indulge a little, then you feel like a total failure because those were all “bad” foods and you weren’t “supposed” to have any of them.

🐇at that point, the binging starts. you finally have those restricted foods that you love. it’s been so long since you’ve had any, that it now has become impossible to stop eating them, and the shame and guilt sets in. it is yet another failed attempt.

🔹it’s back to the drawing board yet again.

🐈this was a pretty similar path that i followed for years. i thought i had to be perfect in order to lose the weight and stay perfect in order to keep it all off. but here’s the thing- dieting isn’t all or nothing, black or white. we all need to stop trying to be p

🐿 being consistent over time is what truly matters and is what will lead to long term success. finding a diet that allows for balance will leave you feeling less deprived, less likely to binge, and loving life more.

🌵be prepared, work hard, and be consistent. the yo-yoing can end right now. so don’t throw in the towel. if you do get off track, you are always just one meal away from getting right back on. .
