This is junior.
he came to me in 2016 around the same time trouble did. i was so focused on getting trouble tnred (trap-neuter-return)so that he would calm down that junior totally flew under the radar.
i eventually neutered him just after trouble was done, but junior and trouble scrapped so much before they were neutered that the damage was done to their relationship.
junior, literally overnight, went from being “feral” to a total love bug. he even hung out with mom for her to love on him. and he followed me into the house twice!
i decided he was a candidate for adoption and as soon as i put him out on fb, my aunt immediately jumped on the opportunity to give him a home.
since he’s territorial and fiv+, and she had no pets, it was the perfect situation for him!
and when i brought him over there, as soon as he came out of the carrier he started purring and i don’t think he has stopped since.
they were meant to be together 💕
I wanted to give you a glimpse into who i am tonight 💕
this was me and tabby christmas eve, 1999
my life was an absolute mess then. and although i took good care of taz and tabby, i surrounded myself with drama and with people who weren’t the best for me or my cats.
i was in active addiction to alcohol in this picture.
june 16, 2000 was the night of my last drunk.
i called the cops to our house, drunk, so that i could get taz and tabby and leave my then-boyfriend. we kept fighting and it was scaring the cats. there was no way i was leaving without them with what was going on in that house that night!
i took them and we met my mom at a roach motel that night. the next day we moved temporarily into a house owned by family that we had lived in a couple of years prior.
then i moved them back into the house i left a few days later.
and then to an apartment just three weeks after that! taz was such a nervous wreck over all of that.
life got exponentially better for us after that, and i’ve been in recovery ever since!
even when the then-boyfriend turned husband relapsed and became a h****n addict.
their lives were full of changes. i kicked their “daddy kitten” out in 2005 and got divorced.
yet they never complained. they rolled with the punches. they were my stability and my reason for going on since i have no kids of my own besides my fur kids.
taz and tabby made wherever i lived home. they got me through some of the toughest times in my life.
they were my rock.
and they loved me unconditionally 😻😻 they will always hold that special place in my heart.
and this day, which i thought at the time was the worst day of my life, turned out to be the best! ❤️❤️ my name is robyn. and i am a grateful recovered alcoholic 🙏🙏 #recovery#wedorecover#grateful#recoveredalcoholic#12steps#12steprecovery#10thsteppromises#thankyougod#rewardsofsobriety#beyondyourwildestdreams#tabbycatsofinstagram#tabbylove#tabbycat#tabby#siamesecat#siameselove#chocolatepoint#furbabies#furkids#catmom#catladiesofinstagram#soulmatekitty#soulcat#unconditionallove
#kittiboxlove for @girlsandtheircats, praised by the @guardian as, "a sophisticated series of photographs of women and their feline companions, #girlsandtheircats was created by brooklyn-based fashion photographer brianne wills to help dismantle the stereotype. 'it just wasn’t representative of any of the cat ladies i personally knew, who are all independent, cool, career-driven women who really love their cats,' she said. 'also, there are (almost) a million cats euthanized each year so if women (and men) are afraid to adopt because of negative stereotypes it definitely hurts cats in the long run.' so is the notion of the crazy cat lady over? wills believes there is still work to be done to change perceptions, but she hopes that her photography project will help. 'it is 2018,' she says, 'and women are tired of defending themselves.” 🐾 don't you love this image of @chelliebeann and her cat mushu? 🌱 #catladiesofinstagram#adoptdontshop
Teddy (new guy i tnr’ed a few weeks ago) was here at dusk last night to try to eat out front. (in the mornings he eats back in charlie’s corner)
trouble went over to get in his face and try to chase him. i sat out here sweet talking trouble to get him to leave teddy alone before it turned into a chase or a fight and eventually trouble walked away from teddy and came back to me.
then blacky started to go after him and despite my telling my mom to just be quiet, she started calling blacky, which made teddy run and prompted blacky to chase him across the street. 😢
Post workout selfie and some extra snuggles for timmy this week. he has kitty asthma which flared up this past week. i had been giving him some rescue inhaler treatments with albuterol but he is on a course of prednisolone from the vet now 🙀. his vet said his heart ❤️ is mildly enlarged on his chest x-ray so next up is a visit with a cardiac veterinarian specialist for a echocardiogram and ekg to make sure his cat heart is healthy 😻. there are so many similarities between human medicine and feline medical care but many differences too. it’s great having such an awesome veterinarian that communicates so well and can talk medical with me. anyone else have cat health issues? #medicine#catasthma#catinhaler#albuterol#veterinarian#cxr#catxray#radiology#sweatyselfie#catcardio#echocardiogram#catsofinstagram#catladiesofinstagram
