Why is it that we yearn to be more or other than we are? it so rarely occurs to us that what we are looking for maybe—indeed, always is—already within us, simply undiscovered.

How much power does your mind have? .
let's say i asked you to do a cake tasting, you are to judge 4 different slices. now, i blindfold you and cut 4 slices of the same cake and ask you to tell me the difference. what do you think would happen?
well, you would be able to tell me that they all taste the same. now, let's say i took the blindfold off and i give you 4 slices of the same cake, but they all have different colored frosting. what do you think would happen then? .
you start attributing flavors based on the color of the icing! why is this so? maybe it's in part a way for our minds to learn to associate different things we come in contact with. triggering an alarm, especially for adverse experiences and pleasurable ones, as we aquire knowledge.
this fact has the ability to give you power over your thoughts! for example, it can play a big role if you are trying to change your mindset about food. everyone knows now that eating from a smaller plate helps you control portions. but, did you know that using colored plates allows your mind to see just how much food is actually on it? reframing your perspective and helping you reduce the chances of mindless eating!
