This is a very interesting ✨🤓#case of a 6 years old patient, came to the #clinic complaining from recurrent #abscess associated with moderate intermittent pain in the lower left side which has been treated repeatedly by a general practitioner, antibiotic was taken but the infection persisted.
#clinically, 👩🏻⚕️#tooth no # 75 had a carious lesion mesially and a #restoration occlusally, showed grade ii #mobility along with the presence of a #sinus tract in the buccal #gingiva. tooth no # 74 had occlusal and distal restoration.
#radiographically , 👀 the tooth no # 75 is having two fused distal roots✨, with 2 separated
canals, the mesiobuccal root is showing internal resorption (clinically the #root shows different color after #extraction due to the presence of blood), there is furcation involvement in teeth no # 75,# 74, periapical lesion around the mesial roots of tooth # 75. 📌in both #teeth the treatment carried out was wrong (#pulpotomy), of course with time and ignorance of early clinical and radiographic signs and symptoms of failure the infection progressed and required the #extraction of tooth no # 75, and reevaluation wither tooth no # 74 will be treated by #pulpectomy or #extraction. 🔖correlation between clinical and radiographic signs along with the patient history is the key to successful treatment outcome.
