when your heart speaks
when your depression, pessimism or doubts of life seems not to trust god at his word, note the psalmist expression ,psalm 42:3 “my tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, “where is your god?” .
he was struggling , day and night, and his emotions were speaking to him, his pain got to him and finally said to himself “ where is your god”. have you ever said that. so what he did was challenge that voice, rather than believe it. he confronted what was being said to him, rather than letting it determine his outlook. the psalmist poured out his complaint to god, but he also intentionally spoke to his own soul in both a questioning and teaching tone: notice psalm 42:5wherefore are you downhearted, my soul, and in a turmoil over my fate? wait for god, for i shall again give thanks to him, my open savior and my god.” byington .
rather than listening to his own desperate thoughts, he spoke truth to his thoughts. rather than trusting his feelings, he challenged them. rather than talking about the truths spoken in gods word applying to other people , he applied it to himself personally. praying to god, he preached hope to himself. try it.
i would suggest this we must do in the midst of our tears especially as our voice causes us not to trust god. that’s what i did last night- my daughter was crying , because we talked about the beautiful gift christ in giving his life for us. but our dying was to much for her. it mad me sad and my thoughts were challenging gods purpose . the first scriptures that came to me as i read gods word we’re psalm 42, i realised god had just spoken gently in my ear, he was saying, “dont worry, i understand, you can trust me at my word” #jesus#bible#beautiful#cloud#sky#god#bible#pretty#water#travel#life#spiritual#prayer#positivevibes#motivation#peace#fit#healthy#picoftheday#happy#faith#blessed#love#trusted#joy#blue#flower#fitfam
