Mood for the day. allergies are kicking my ass.
thanks to @bliproasters for providing this motivational message ❤️
also they put on a pretty neat bike show for #bliptoberfest yesterday, they'll always be one of my favorite shops not just for the coffee and badass aethestic, but also for the community they've created. it's always a good time going there.
For anyone interested to learn about the basics of coffee roasting, i can warmly recommend this book from scott rao (@whereisscottrao ). it was so interesting to read it and the info is presented in such a clear and concise way!
as a barista i’m always fascinated to learn more about extraction and why different coffees behave differently during brewing, but i’m also eager to understand better the roasting process. now, i not only have a better grasp of the chemistry and reactions happening inside a roasted coffee bean, but i’m also more confident when having a discussion with a coffee roaster. such a helpful read! 🙏
New york — i remember coming to abraco on a pretty spring day in 2012 when it was just a tiny hole-in-the-wall spot. fueled on caffeine, i leisurely walked from ev to midtown just taking in the city. content. happy. the feeling of that day stayed with me and all these years later, i’m back here. now, it’s a whole sit down basement cafe, but the coffee is still the best in the city. abraco is buzzy, retro, neighborly. i could spend many weekend mornings here. #sunday#eastvillage#nyc
