These are the reusable items i carry with me everyday to try to avoid waste 💜 i have a long play keepcup and a metal water bottle, reusable bamboo cutlery and metal straw. i have with me my moon cup, cloth pad, handkerchief, and metal hair pins. i also always carry a fold away tote bag, a napkin and a metal tin of snack to avoid packaged treats. 💚 please know that a lot of these items were given to me as gifts that i asked for, but waited to receive, or items i already had before going zerowaste, and for the remaining couple of items i held off and saved up for before buying. you don’t need anything new to reduce your waste. i’ve been so lucky to receive gifts that help me along my low waste journey but please don’t go out and buy anything new today unless you have nothing else that will do the same job and you can’t avoid waste any other way! even then take more time to think if there is a simpler way to reduce your waste without consuming more products.
every decision we make effects the lives of those around us and the habitat we all share. even choosing electronic billing instead of paper mail... or choosing to vote with your dollars for environmental conscious companies instead of unethical corporations... something as simple as that creates a huge impact over time... especially coming from you powerful influencers of your communities.
let’s lead by example with planet earth always in mind first.
I’m dreaming of spring, but trying to stay present and appreciate the here and now. i want to be barefoot in the dirt, but instead i’m under 10 layers crunching through ice. but i can be patient. i appreciate where mother earth is today. i will enjoy each day for what it is and try to avoid counting down until “someday”. it’s always a practice. does anyone else ever find themselves dreaming of tomorrow? how do you bring yourself back to today? 🌫🌬
Hey loves, i want to share something with you. ⠀
just over 3 years ago i was expecting my 2nd baby and was searching out ways to up-level my self-care and support my emotional needs. i knew in my heart that having 2 kids, 2 and under would be hard, and i wanted to be prepared with some tools and strategies so that i could be the best mom, wife, friend, and me that i could be. you see, i struggled for the first 8 months or so after my daughter was born and i wanted better for myself this time around. after doing a bunch of research and having essential oils and doterra come up over and over again, and loving what i was learning, i dove in! ⠀
over these past 3 years, i have experienced a sense of empowerment that i never expected. not only did they fill the need i was searching for, they provided so much more. they've awakened me to the healing power within, dialled up my intuition, renewed my belief that i know what is best for me and my body, sparked a desire to learn and most of all ask the tough questions! i have drastically reduced the toxic load in our home through creating simple diy recipes, turning to nature first instead of medicine and using essential oils and my trusty diffuser in place of chemical-laden candles and air fresheners. ⠀
i share all of this with you today because i feel so grateful that this is now how i live my life, and i want to share some of what i’ve learned with you. i’ve created an exclusive vip facebook group where, from feb 20-24, i will post daily, a ton of education, tips, tricks and recipes and most fun of all, really great deals and giveaways!! if you’re looking to take your health and wellness to the next level and start rocking out the wellth life, comment below, dm or close click the link in my bio to be added to my the wellth life vip wellness hub. ⠀
**this group is only open to those who are already a part of my doterra community, who aren’t working with someone else and don’t have a wholesale account yet**⠀
Change is here and it's so exciting.!
dr. karumbu, the sugarcane juice parlour in coimbatore has made the amazing switch to reusable stainless steel tumblers starting today.! 🙌 if you've had water from steel, you'll know that it has a strikingly satisfying taste. i loved drinking my juice from steel today and i felt it tasted better that drinking from glass. that's my drink on the counter next to the banner. 😉
the store uses a dishwasher to clean all their glasses and they soon plan to sell snacks like steamed peanuts, also in steel cups. sadly, some customers are so skeptical about hygiene that they specifically ask for paper cups. worse is that some adults put a plastic straw in their drinks because they don't want to sip on a tumbler that someone else drank from (though it's been thoroughly cleaned).!! india can be a weird place.
on a positive note, when i visited the store yesterday, a little kid (about 3 years old) was holding a bunch of straws and was slowly adding to his collection. refusing to hold myself any further, i picked up a friendly conversation, asking his name and if he wanted to be a superhero (and what superheros do). expectedly, he said yes and that superheroes save everyone. i told him he could save a lot of birds, animals and people by refusing straws, because straws make our surroundings dirty and make animals sick. he nodded his head in acceptance, smiled and put all the straws pack in their holder before they could get dirty. 🙌😍 i thanked him, shook his hand and told him he was now a superhero.! 😁 here's to hoping he creates his own little army of green warriors.! 🍻
Premium packaging can be an effective way for brands to create a memorable experience for customers, and compel them to return again. when consumers experience something special, something outside of the retail/online shopping norm, they’re likely to remember it, and remember you! wonderful working with @abasicshop on their tissue!
Went to bed at 4:30am, woke up at 7. still have another 1500 words to write, a marketing budget to craft, a five minute speech to write and record with an accompanying powerpoint. somehow it doesn’t seem quite as bad with a brazil nut cacao latte. 3 more days and then another step closer to graduation.
Here are 3 of the beautiful #bolgabaskets i picked up while in ghana 🇬🇭 i’ll be selling them in store but will post them on the #etsyshop some time in the next week! the colour, pattern and craftsmanship of these baskets is amazing and all are completely #handwoven by ghanaian artisans 😍
