i’m a little worried that children today are not their imaginations as much as we did when we were kids. remember when we were little, we were constantly spinning incredible tales and stories in our fantasy play, imagining “cops and robbers” or “house”? now, spending hours sitting at a computer, watching television or playing on their ipad, kids are passive participants being fed someone else’s stories instead of having the time and space to dream up their own.
we should not forget that children need time and space to develop their creative imaginations free from adult agendas. even when the children complain, “i’m bored!” or ”there’s nothing to do!” please, please, please trust that it will be good for them to figure out for themselves how to fill their time. let their creativity kick in and their imaginations will soar!
Only one more i promise! lol. actually the smoke has me housebound, it is so terrible here and its expected to get worse before it gets better here this week. i have serious asthma and suffer panic attacks and clostrophoebia so this is a test of my mental and physical strength, i hope i can get through this. i may have to dig into my archives and retrieve some old photos of better days to repost just to remind myself that our blue skies will return. bare with me and #prayforthewestcoast.
