I decided to enlist the help of sherlock holmes to find the culprit that gave me the flu. turns out i didn’t have to look far, they are in the other room laid in bed with it too 😂
i’ve been out of action for about 4 days now and i’m getting pretty bored of not having the energy to do anything other than lie in bed 😂 i’ve also run out of tv shows to watch so do you have any recommendations? (also some podcasts for when my headaches get too bad to keep my eyes open) #takingteawith

Today was spent on lots and lots of client projects and tonight is for getting my own internship program locked and loaded for the super talented new people that are going to be working with us here at rwp 🙌🏻 we have so freaking many awesome things we’re looking ahead to, some past projects we’re saying adieu to, and ending the year with more people as my chosen word of the year dictated 💃🏼 we’re gathering space inspiration for a couple of clients that fill our hearts with warm cozy feels, to not only influence their brand identity, but their actual physical location design and this kitchen from @lexigracedesign has all the best vibes don’t you think?
Fall vibes in the office and i’m not mad about it. 🖤 i loved, loved, loved working for this women empowerment brand. bold patterns + round shapes communicating a fierce yet approachable brand where females can find community and connection. community is definitely something i’ve struggled with once i started working from home - entrepreneurship can be lonely! i thought i was an introvert and then i realized i actually really like being around people. 🤣 but what’s help me the most is making friends in the industry, hey 👋🏼 @violahillstudio! texting her on a regular basis has made me feel like i’m not going crazy. andddd meeting up with a friend or two i’ve met on instagram for coffee has also been fun. how do you stay connected // not lonely as a soloprenuer? i wanna know!

Sometimes people aren’t ready to see the bright side. sometimes they need to sit with their shadows, b**w out the stars and untie their tongue from words someone made them choke down.
sit with them and make their darkness beautiful, because it can be. they don’t need to be pulled out of it they just need company though it.

Brooklyn bridge 🕶🧥🚕 by far one of my fav spots in nyc!
What feels good and nourishing to me this week:
walks outside in the autumn sunshine, unplugged or listening to flowy podcasts (the lively show, amber lilyestrom show, and goddess boss are current faves)
waking up early to put on my lemon/peppermint diffuser and journal before working out with ben.
journaling and downtime to just be
giant salads with alllllll the autumn produce and toppings!!
being more social and chilling with my fave people.
>> the problem with most fitness/nutrition programs is that they expect us to show up and do the exact same thing every single day. then we “fall off the wagon” if we get tired or life happens.
in reality, as women, our energy and physical/emotional needs are always shifting. on a macro scale with the seasons, and on a micro scale with our hormones and menstrual cycle.
that’s why it’s ok to create a more intuitive self care practice. it won’t look the same every day or every week, but that’s the whole point!
ask your body: what do i need? what am i craving?
ask your soul: what do i need? what am i craving?
then trust the answers and take action. even if the action is more sleep.
what feels good to you this week?
Do you run your biz with your eyes fixed on god?
is he in your peripheral view? or, do you have to intentionally check that rearview mirror to make sure he's still there when you need him?
confession: i've had consistent--downright sacred--quiet times in the morning since i was a junior in college.
when i was teaching, i woke up at 4:45 am so i could get ready and have enough time in the word before my day. i literally could not function without it.
but the past three weeks, i've dropped the ball completely.
i haven't even opened my youversion app. i've been distracted by a puppy, and a business, and a side job, and texting friends back, and the rain.
wait... really, jess? the rain? 🙄
i know, it sounds ridiculous. but when you think about it, what excuse is not ridiculous that takes us away from getting to know our one and only savior who promises us abundant and eternal life if we'll just reach out and grab it?
today on the blog i'm talking about 3 easy ways to fix your eyes on god throughout your workday--not before, not after, but in the midst of the busy.
challenge: share with me one way you want to fix your eyes on him throughout this week, and i'll check in with you periodically!
Anyone else feeling the overwhelm? 🙋♀️
a few tried and true ways to combat overwhelm:
1. take a few minutes to breathe deeply. close your eyes and imagine you’re breathing into each o***n of your body.
2. write down 3 things you’re grateful for.
3. take a walk and breathe in the fresh air.
4. make a list of 3 things you can do today and don’t make it any longer: 3 things is manageable and accomplishing those will make you feel better.

💸 are you living in the extremes with your money relationship? 💸
💰 over the weekend, i journaled on what it *really* means to be in financial equilibrium. not from a balancing your checkbook sense. but energetically speaking, does your relationship with money have balance?
🔮 i realized that i've only ever been in the extremes with money. shutting down all spending because i was a broke af college student. or racking up $20k+ in credit card debt chasing a "wealth positive" mindset.
💎 money coming in looked like landing sales no prob in 48 hours of each other. then 4 months of "uhhh, what's next?"
⚖️ now, i realized that it's my time to come into a state of equilibrium. because maintaining the extremes is a lot of work. but following the middle path? that's the way to access ease and flow.
✨ interested in bringing equilibrium to your money relationship? join me this thursday (10.18) at 10am mdt // 12pm edt for a free training on money equilibrium right here on instagram!

4 days to join boutique basics bootcamp and i keep getting women who deep down know they should join... but want my validation to just take the leap!
i've gotten some questions from women who were successful in direct sales (llr/a&d) who are opening their own boutique now asking if bootcamp would be good for them, since they have been making great money... and i still say heck yes!
why? >> well let's just say you don't know what you don't know.
in direct sales you are spoon fed your ideal customer and product/pricing. it's a different ballgame out here in boutiqueland my friend. i see the exact same mistakes when the top sellers from ds come to work with me:
1. you buy things that look like what your ds company sold. those won't sell now, trust me.
2. your pricing is all over the map. like really, you need a solid pricing assortment that you decide. and it needs to make sense.
3. you buy all the categories. because, you know, freedom to buy whatever you want. you're going to have a rough start if you do that.
4. you only have sold in a fb group. that's great, but isn't growth your focus now? how are you going to grow this new business? i'll give you a great plan if you want it.
5. you just promoted a brand to sell. one that maybe had some street cred. now you don't have that... actually you have to create your brand. are you ready for that part of running an independent boutique?
i know if you have transitioned, there is alot of retail fundamentals you still need to learn about ideal customer, assortment planning and pricing. i have coached many women from ds moving to their own boutique and i see alot of the same issues that go back to basics. some of the marketing stuff may be repetitive, but trust me when i say i have helped many ds top sellers from possible failure in their own new boutique... to resounding success.
Does anyone else feel a ton of pressure when the holidays roll around? pressure to have the perfect decorations, to go to a pumpkin patch 85 times and pressure to have the perfect halloween costumes and photos. i definitely enjoy being festive but i’m over stressing myself out about it or doing things because i feel obligated . gray’s not going to have 5 different costumes this year and we don’t have the time to do as much as we normally do but that’s ok!! trying to give myself more grace and you guys should do the same 💕
