Max barbell strength isn’t something i have focused on as a training priority in a long time (several years). having suffered a lower back injury from squatting a few years ago it has been a long road to recovery and a lot of physical and mental barriers to overcome on the journey back to using higher percentage loading. i recently decided i was finally ready to pursue max strength again and that it was time to put in the work and dedicate myself to a proper strength cycle. 9 weeks in and very pleased to have hit a longtime goal of mine of deadlifting over 400lbs. 405 isn’t a whole lot of weight in weightlifting terms- but for me it’s a iconic moment of confidence knowing that a few years ago i couldn’t bend down to tie my shoes without nerve pain in my back and now i’m lifting 400lbs pain free. the body is amazingly adaptable and if anybody out there is reading this who is working through an injury right now just keep trusting and putting in the work because it will eventually heal if you persevere. never. stop. moving.
So beyond proud of my best friend & her amazing year of service she has had. from day one we’ve always been “pageant besties” and i am so blessed with this amazing friendship. saturday may be bittersweet but i cannot wait to see what god has in store you because you will do amazing things. oh & watch out orlando... dynamic duo will both be there!! 💗🤩 #roadtonationals#missindiana18#maoteen18#minot#maoteenin#crowntown#dynamicduo
