After remnants of florence go by this rainbow follows. started to the left (nne), doubled, then tripled, then developed to the right (sse) with a full arc for a while. just intermittent moderate rain with not much wind for us here in atlantic highlands, nj. very fortunate, unlike many others.
"...the dawn is breakin'
it's early morn
the taxi's waitin'
he's blowin' his horn
already i'm so lonesome
i could die
so kiss me and smile for me
tell me that you'll wait for me
hold me like you'll never let me go..." john denver, "leaving on a jet plane" .
glad to report i'm not lonesome. back in the day, i enjoyed being held. he chose to let me go. his loss. i'm growing stronger, happier and more content by the day. dawn has ushered in a new day. may it be a glorious one for one and all! *smiles* .
It's been three years (and two more kids) since we last shared an anchorage with these guys. these two hit it off right away and have spent hours playing happily together over the last few days! it's great to be back on batty!
The last morning on board. unfortunately i have to undergo an operation on my thyroid gland, which i have been postponing for far too long. it's just a routine operation, but i'm still nervous. i have never been operated before. for a few days i won't be able to work on the boat, fortunately i have many supporters who keep the project running ;) in any case, i want to reduce the risk of suddenly being dependent on medical treatment during my sail around the world. hence this operation now.
Our last crab claw cruise for the year is this saturday! we don't mean to toot our own horn, but this really is such a great day out and we get so much excellent feedback from tourists and locals alike!
if you've been thinking about coming along, this weekend is your last chance until next dry! 📷: @wanderlust_nicole
