Autumn colour palette and vibes in our place matching the current season in new zealand🍁🍂. i made that cute little kokedama with heart-leaf philodendron on the table a while ago. it’s doing so well.💛
We’ve been working silently for the past eight months (we always get nervous we’ll jinx a project if we mention it too soon)… on a book! butterflies are floating around in our stomachs, and we absolutely cannot wait to share this labor of love with you. all of our favorite discussions with this community (you) will be covered in the book—the enjoyment of ordinary experiences, adjusting from city to rural, designing our home to blur indoor and outdoor space, and how such a quiet and remote place creatively fills us up. called ‘at home in joshua tree: a field guide to desert living’, it is a guide to bring both the practicalities and magic of mindful living to life. for the next couple of weeks we’ll be sharing behind the scenes in stories as we continue to work on and photograph the book, and will share more details on when it will be available in the next couple of weeks!! #athomeinjoshuatree#thejoshuatreehacienda
So it’s snowing outside, but it’s kinda (not really) ok because before i see the snow i see my desert plant collection and imagine hanging in say georgia o‘keeffe‘s house (look it up, totally #housegoals) sipping cold unsweetened ice tea in the sun ☀️🥤🌵
Guess who caved under peer pressure and finally got some linen bedding? that’s right, it was #katzibert. i do wish he’d stop ordering things i then need to pay for. but i have to hand it to him: it looks/feels very nice 🏳️

very much tired, but i still have to pack my stuff, cause tomorrow i'll be traveling to vienna & my hometown for a whole week (can't remember the last time i was in austria for that long!). oma mehlspeisen, here i come!
Our new home.
i was 20 when i moved to ny from maryland. right out of college and for a boyfriend that i had only known for 6 months. we lived with his parents while i found a job and we found an apartment in manhattan. that was almost 8 years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
in the ensuing years i went to graduate school and achieved my dream of becoming a derm pa - we adopted a dog, and then got married, renovated the hunter greenhouse (!) and then adopted another dog. and as of yesterday we are the proud owners of the next chapter in our continuing story - moving to westchester (!) where we'll have more than a half bedroom and a dream in the middle of the greatest city on earth.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
this account will still be primarily about our rental property in tannersville but if y'all don't mind i'll occasionally post about our ongoing renovation at the new house. it needs a lot of work! but just like everything else, we'll take things one day at a time. thanks for following along! #dobbsferry
super soft, plush, geometric goodness here. i wish you all could feel this one, as it is one of the softest beauties i've ever had in my shop. well made and beautiful, this one would be perfect underneath the toes. maybe for a little girl's room??
meet marseille this wednesday.
We love seeing our cabinets in the most beautiful kitchens. these are from our starmark line in stone. stone is a great neutral and mixes well with different colors and textures. design by @centered_by_design 📷: @dustinforest
