Regression; a s****d word, with a s****d meaning! today i couldn’t even get 205 pounds up, while dead lifting! my max is 215! just sucks! than again, i feel like sometimes you have to move backwards to move forward.. you can’t learn from your mistakes, if you never make them! for me, it feels equally as bad, as it does good, to pick up or not be able to pick up heavy weights. its all about learning my friend! just have to remember, there is always tomorrow!

1. prior to deadlifting, you must setup in the proper position. first off, make sure you have your socks on. for the deadlift, you must have 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬. then you simply have to have the bar in front of you facing the front of the platform and grip the bar however you want.⁣

2. a proper lockout includes 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 and the 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. you don’t need to overdo it and hyperextend the back though.⁣

3. a common error in beginners is not waiting for the command. you must wait at lockout to receive the “𝐃𝐎𝗪𝐍” command. that’s the only command and you can initiate your pull on your own time. this failure is denoted with a 𝐲𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝.⁣

4. another common error is downward motion of the bar. the bar can slow down or stop, but it can’t go back down. this failure is denoted with a 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝.⁣

5. watch out for soft knees! the knees must be locked at the end of the lift. there are no medical exemptions for this. this failure is denoted with a 𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝.⁣

6. you can’t support the bar on the thighs like in strongman or crossfit. you’re allowed to edge the bar up the thighs though if it’s not being supported. this failure is denoted with a 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝.⁣

7. other failures include taking a step during the lift (𝐲𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝) and dropping the bar (𝐲𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝).⁣

8. you’re now ready for white lights and prs. 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐤!⁣

Well, that was fast. california we fumbled that one ☝️ i purchased a gym membership for the first time in years yesterday and was so excited.

i’ve had several athletes pr at the gym after primarily bodyweight workouts. yes, it is always with it to do what you can. yes, you will be happier if you keep workings towards your goals.

and yes, it’s possible to do so! when things aren’t ideal that’s when you see what is really important to you. yes, it sucks to not have a full gym - but the government does not control your goals.

1. set step goals
2. if you’re having trouble with less structure set your own structure. set your alarm at the same time in the morning, meal times should be fairly routined - doesn’t have to be by minute but there should be some structure and set times for daily walks.
3. use the extra time you have to do things that help your goals. if possible, put more time into meal prep, learning new kitchen skills.

i lost quite a bit of strength when i was cutting last yr (supposed its still going on) but i could feel that its coming back to me after a month of serious training. still chasing my deadlift pr i made when i was 12kg heavier tho but i broke my squat and bench pr (easy for my poverty bench as i seldom train chest and triceps previously 😂)

Pushed to the limit

last week had to be one of my best performance throughout my fitness journey. 4 full rounds (5-10-15-25 reps) within 20 minutes. a progress from previous session.

we came in strong. slept well, ate well and mentally ready.

without wasting any time, coach @aqilah1habit , prepared a list of workouts for us to complete within 20 minutes.

we started first round very focused and strong. very strong. come to second round my heart rate was at 165 bpm. so many things came to my mind. i kept going. the thought of wanting to give up was there.

told myself it’s all about growth. coach knew we were not at our maximum performance and we trust her.

at the final round, all i wanted to do was to at least finish the second set of workout and just end it all only to realise that i still had time left.

completed the 3rd set and still had ample time left. completed the last two sets and finally the time beeped.

oh the feeling is crazy. felt at my maximum body breakdown but at the same time the accomplishment was beyond words.

this didn’t happen overnight. it happened over months. i reminded myself to focus on your own growth according to your way. seek help and focus. develop and grow along the way. you’ll fumble and fall and that’s okay. you learn to get back up.

I start off with doing squats with the safety bar. going for high reps to help build up muscle and endurance. using the safety bar to take some stress off my lower back from yesterday’s workout and to make things interesting. i’ve also added one back accessory movement.
1️⃣. safety bar squat:

2️⃣. lat pulldown:

A perfect glowing skin is the best accessory a person can wear ☺️
i’m sharing few tips for glowing skin i followed :
1. 8hrs good sleep
2. 2 times face wash must after wakeup and before going to sleep - i recommend this “cetaphil - gentle skin cleanser”
3. drink water minimum 4 to 5 liters per day
4. vitamin c foods add in ur diet (ex - guava, orange, kiwi)
5. do workouts atleast halfnhour
6. aviod oil and junk foods
