I’m super bummed... 14 month old scooby was going to be an 8pt buck his first year until he came walking out of the brush missing an antler, he’s a 4pt now 🤷🏼♀️ i hadn’t seen him in a few days, i’m assuming the loss is from running and hitting a low thick tree branch/log. it was a clean break, no injuries just a few scratches on his nose and head. deer grow new antlers every spring after shedding the old during winter. the velvet supplies nutrition and blood flow while the antler grows. when it’s done growing the velvet comes off with the help of the deer scraping up against trees. the velvet is very soft and fragile... the photo at the end of video is scooby when he was 3 weeks old, still has those amazing soulful eyes.... you can also see him chewing his cud in first part of video. the food is chewed, he swallows and regurgitates more up his throat and continues chewing 😉 #bestnonpayingjobever#scoobysnacks

male roe deer
my holiday in norfolk has given me some awesome opportunities to capture it’s wildlife. on an evening stroll, close to where i stayed, i bumped in to this male roe deer. norfolk is definitely a place i will return to for more wildlife photography.
My uncle brought me some beets from his garden. my garden beets were eaten by the deer, so the thought was appreciated. i made these beet rolls and invented a new recipe. #beets#thekitchen#gardening#deer#newrecipe
Early morning visitor 🦌
extremely grateful to live in a city surrounded by nature and beauty 🌿
in celtic mythology, deer are part of the fairy folk, and have secret knowledge. they symbolize fertility, life, and vitality. i’m taking this one’s appearance as a good sign as i embark on my journey in a new home ✨
Two walks this week, and twice we’ve seen this mama and twins. this doe has a gimp leg, broken and somewhat healed from most likely being hit by a car. she’s been a neighborhood regular for years but this year she’s got babies. #walks#deer#doe#bambies#fawn#exercise#sighting#wildlife
