1 a.m. thoughts 💭: sometimes we don’t have to know everything... we try to control things that are out of our control and in the end, it only leaves us frustrated and the wasted time is lost forever. alternatively, we should focus on what we can change, we should focus on what we consume and where we invest in our energy and we should focus on what we can control.
a lot of us are not living in the present moment, we are constantly worried about the future and overthinking things that are completely unnecessary. i’ve got to admit i am guilty too, but it is a constant effort and discipline everyday to minimize and eliminate such harmful habits.
a great step forward is being conscious, being aware and noticing such behaviors because, if we aren’t being honest with ourselves and bringing problems out in the open, how can we be honest with others and how can we move forward?
what i am currently trying to focus on is the fact that there is beauty in the unknown, what’s meant to be will always stay or come back in mysterious ways in its own time — and what wasn’t meant to be will naturally fall apart.
moreover, it is very true that mistakes will always arise and come back if we haven’t fully learned from them.
all in all, let’s have faith in ourselves and others. let’s believe in the fact that everything will workout exactly the way it is supposed to and not stress about every little thing!

At the beginning of this year @yogilo87 in class asked not what our new years resolution were, but rather “how do you want to feel this year?” i light heartedly said “strong” in my head referring to my physical strength and didn’t think anything of it. as i continued to take her class this month 2020 decided start throwing curve balls at me.
when i continued to show up to her class and she kept the same intention i was blown away by how i kept coming back to the same word “strong” but the connotation started to change. the strength i wanted to feel was in my mind and emotions. i wanted to stay strong to tackle anything that this year could throw me and it’s already decided to throw a lot. here’s to staying strong in 2020 in my mind, body and spirit.

A question i get asked all the time... ❓
“how do you stay motivated to workout every day?”
the truth is, i don’t always feel motivated!
in fact, today i felt the least motivated to workout than i have in a long time... 😅
so did i just decide to stay home and skip my leg day?
you see, the secret is to spend less time waiting for motivation and more time exercising discipline! ✨
even when, and especially when you don’t feel motivated! 💪
because there is so much power and reward in doing what you said you were going to do, especially when you don’t feel like it... when you do it anyway, because you have become clear on your guiding principles, on your goals and your non negotiables. on those days i don’t feel like exercising, i do it anyway because i know that it’s what’s best for me and my health! because it aligns with my why and my core goals! 💜
it’s all about discipline!

Tuesday truth😜 yep, this is a selfie and this a fitness account focusing on wellness, transformation, care and growth of the physical body. i’m thankful every. single. day. to have the ability to workout, eat healthy and work on transforming my body to reach my personal goals/aesthetics. what is so important to remember is that our bodies are merely vessels to carry us through life. while i believe it is very important to care for them in the best way possible, it is even more important to focus on what is inside....ie. our hearts, our souls and our mental health. i’m a big believer and advocate of personal growth in all areas. physical transformation is super awesome and i’ll always be striving to reach new goals but transformation and growth within should always take precedence. 🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀
ways to do this???? pray, read, meditate, listen and struggle. i usually have at least 5 books i’m in the middle of reading🤓😝 some focus on specific self help, some on faith, some i agree with and some i don’t agree with but still read. i love to learn new perspectives and contemplate life and purpose. this past month i spent learning about the 12 step program that is not just for substance abusers but all of us! we can all use the 12 step program in our lives. if you are not familiar with it, it is gold and if everyone could work the steps, this world would most certainly be a better place. so next time you are setting some goals around fitness, take a moment to set some around caring for your heart/conscious/soul as well. our minds can make our life a painful place to live but also a pretty amazing place to live if you feed it💞
just how many squats and lunges can one do? surprised myself in getting through all 5 circuits today. big sweat sesh indeed! also super glad legs day is done for the week. completed all three rounds of c1-c3, two rounds of c4 and finished off with c5 20/20 abs. this is the final week of the ab challenge, and i am determined to keep up with an ab circuit daily come feb.
started the day late as i spent the early part of the morning readjusting my investment portfolio. i remember the sars virus too well and what it did to markets. keep well and healthy everyone, it’s too early to tell exactly how this wuhan epidemic pans out.

A good father disciplines his children. in life, we have laws and natural order that is willed by god. i have experienced god’s discipline firsthand hallelujah!! when we steal, won’t we eventually get caught? when we cheat on our spouses, won’t our marriages collapse? when we become drunkards, won’t we look like fools? the immoral actions we reap will sow terrible consequences. these consequences lead to hardship, which disciplines us to give glory to our father in heaven through jesus christ.
Getting started with a workout is one of the toughest things. it required willpower and grit. and the courage to start small knowing that one day you would achieve that big goal. my current goal is to lose at least 20kg. it is not going to happen overnight. i need to make a lot of small changes and more importantly make them stick.
i have started to cook my meals, walk to work rather than then take my car, and i am doing a posture correction training to overcome years of slouching.
today i started my second week of posture correction training. it is not an intensive training, but since i have started this training i have more energy thought the day, i don't have any pain in my neck, arms or back from prolonged sitting and i feel good about myself.
small changes that stick, this is what this project is all about.

Another walk. if this bores you, my apologies, just move along. i do this to keep myself accountable and also because anyone who says a kind word, truly encourages me to keep going. your words really do mean a lot to me, so that you!!! today marks the end of my fourth week of food journaling and eating healthy and my 9th walk of the year, on my treadmill. walks outdoors are better for my lungs and the sun is good for my spirit, but this time of year the roads and sidewalks are far too icy so i prefer the machine. i also like the even ground and the tracking monitor it provides. if i do start walking outside, in the spring, i’ll need some advice on how to track my speed, distance and calories burned. i don’t want to wear a cellular device on my body due to someone i know, losing their wife due to cancer in her leg that grew under where she always carried her cellphone. very very sad. but yes, i do want to get outside. i need the vitamin d. ❤️🏃🏼♀️☀️🥗 #walking#exercise#health#fitness#energy#strength#training#discipline#keepgoing#forlife
