Lost in autumn
a special moment in the woods...a hint of frost on the leaves made it all the more special - the frost changes the tone of the light in such a subtle but beautiful way, it’s hard to describe. .
Of man, we may say that nothing that he/she can be and do can give him/her perfect rest and satisfaction. it is owing to an innate and noble dissatisfaction that he/she is ever aiming at something better and higher, and that the narrow range and brief scope of human life cannot content him/her, cannot furnish him/her with all the opportunity he/she desires in order to acquire and to achieve.

Regardless of what your family looks like, children's resilience can be built by ensuring that the family have an identity within their community. every family shares some common interests (maybe food, debating, adventuring, boating, sports, travel, fishing, dance, church, reading, hiking) and these can help form this identity. children can overcome obstacles more easily when they feel they belong to something bigger and know who they are. did you know you can build resilience within your family by being intentional about your 'family identity'. so rather than just letting things happen, having some goals and intentions in place can support this. for example if your family love their food, you might cook for each other and then review each person's meal like a reality tv show. or you may be campers and adventurers, so you might set a goal for different areas you would like to explore or see how many different spots you can visit in your own local region. as children grow, it's important they know their family's identity and have something to feel connected with. this can also be used to teach lessons around goal setting and achieving particular goals too (training together for a hike, learning to cook something new and difficult, saving for a snow trip). it's important to still keep interests fun and balanced (for example sporty families don't always have to be winning families, otherwise we create pressure). .
