Later in the day, the two princes watched england beat panama 6-1 in a 2018 world cup match, which the jordanian prince had recorded. william, president of britain's football association and a supporter of the aston villa football club, was given some presents: a wooden shield and a model of a gas tank of a ducati motorbike, both decorated with the aston villa crest.
His first day of activities saw him visit techworks fabrication lab (fablab), one of several technology labs set up by the jordanian leader's foundation and co-funded by the european union, an initiative to equip young people with technology skills, and deliver a message of " staunch and long held" friendship from his grandmother the queen.

Prince william arrived in jordan on sunday on the first stop of his middle east tour.
william's five-day tour of the region is his most high profile foreign trip and will also see him visit israel and the occupied palestinian territories - the first time a member of the monarchy has visited on behalf of the government.
the duke of cambridge was greeted by the crown prince of jordan as he arrived in the country for the start of a historic trip to the middle east.
william was warmly welcomed by al hussein bin abdullah ii, heir to the kingdom's throne, when his jet landed in the jordanian capital amman.
also waiting at the bottom of the plane's steps was britain's ambassador to jordan edward oakden who will host the duke when he attends a queen's birthday party at the ambassador's residence later.
during his trip the duke will meet israel's prime minister benjamin netanyahu and palestinian authority president mahmoud abbas.
the tour will see the duke focus particularly on young people, though, he conceded: "i am now 36 so i am not sure that i can call myself young any longer." kensington palace has strongly emphasised the non-political nature of the trip, underlining its purpose in highlighting the culture of the region, and the hopes of its youth.
the duke will go on to visit young syrian refugees in jordan, as well as spending an afternoon on the west bank including "events that focus on the issues facing refugee communities; opportunities to celebrate palestinian culture, music and food; and a chance to meet a number of young palestinians" .
