There’s one thing this meal is still glaringly missing....... colour! .
🌈🌈🌈 eating a predominantly ”white or beige” diet is not only less appealing on the eye but, as a result, also lacking in the brightly coloured antioxidant vitamin and minerals. as it happens, i did serve this with some griddled courgettes, aubergines and red peppers, antipasti style brushed with a little garlic and olive oil and indeed, it was certainly a “feast for our eyes”!
a side salad would also do it! .
🌈 add colour, add nutrients! 🌈
.❀️ i made this risotto with a homemade chicken broth and mixed in some of the soft chicken pieces, along with some sautéed leeks instead of using onions. i do love risotto and it’s a great one-plate dish to make for the family or if you’re entertaining. πŸ‘

Garlicky hassleback japanese sweet potato
can't get enough of these tasty sp loaded with so much garlic goodness. wish you could smell this! πŸ˜‹ .
. ➑️ to get those garlicky flavour bits, mince several cloves of garlic and lightly coat with an oil of your choice. i used @chosenfoods avocado oil
. ➑️ place on tray along with sweet potatoes to roast. keep an eye on them, it'll take about 10 mins for them to turn a nice golden colour. take them out at this point before they burn. continue roasting sweet potatoes until done. .

sprinkle garlic bits on everything! enjoy πŸ˜„

11. belustigung
an dem tag der überraschung war sie überrascht, dass es gefühle gibt, die einen zu überraschen vermögen. denn all die vielen geschenke, die man ihr machte, sind keine wirkliche überraschung für sie gewesen. weil man ihr so viele geschenke schenkte, dass sie schon mit ihnen rechnete und sie nichts besonderes mehr waren. auch das vorige gefühl der hoffnung überraschte sie, da sie niemals in ihrem leben hat hoffen müssen. schließlich war alles ohnehin schon perfekt. und die perfektion und die hoffnung sind sich fremd. so wie zwei gleich gepolte magneten. auch wenn diese worte scheinbar keinen sinn ergeben. sie jedenfalls war so überrascht über all das neue, dass sie einen riesigen spaß daran fand. sie kicherte wie ein kleines kind, das gerade zum ersten mal die welt erkundet. die welt mit all den sagenhaften dingen, die sie zu bieten hat. sie kicherte, lachte und dieses mal von herzen.
es war der tag, an dem sie eine alte seite neu an sich entdeckte: die belustigung

last christmas was my first time finding a recipe i actually liked. πŸ˜‹ and it’s such a simple one, too—just 2 or 3 scoops of cocoa powder (bonus points if it’s non-gmo and from a small farm like @sillycow_farms πŸ™ƒπŸ„) in a cup of organic vanilla soymilk.πŸ₯›the vanilla adds just the right amount of sweet so that i don’t have to worry about consuming too much sugar. and when i wanna be fancy πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ˜†, i just let a candy cane hang off the side of my mug, let it dissolve, and voila! instant peppermint hot chocolate. πŸ˜Šβ˜•οΈ♥️ what’s your favorite way to make your hot chocolate? .

What’s typical..me having oats. what’s not typical, someone else preparing them! the other day, i had the great pleasure of trying @oatmealsny while in nyc on sunday. the amount of toppings they had to choose from..endless-both sweet and savory. insane. my sister and i both got some of their signature bowls, hers the cinnamon bun and mine ‘the hot date’ (and boy was it). loved it and for sure would go back!
