i’ve been eating more of the right food and less of the bad, unbelievably religiously, for the past 2.5 weeks and have seen a huge improvement in how i feel physically and mentally. i’ve also lost 2% body f*t in 2 weeks by filling up on protein, protein, protein. pushing myself hard at @burnbootcamppineville is doing the trick - hard work definitely pays off! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

~3 hacks to up your quinoa game~
1๏ธโƒฃ soaking quinoa, this removes the bitterness and makes it easier to digest
2๏ธโƒฃ lightly toasting the quinoa gives it a nutty flavour, dry your quinoa after rinsing it and let it sit for 10 mins. then toast in a frying pan for around 5 mins before cooking regularly
3๏ธโƒฃ instead of cooking quinoa in water cook in vegetable stock to give a nice seasoned flavour!

๐Ÿ‘ฅa long-term client of mine (40 years old) shared with me the results of his annual lab work from his doctor’s visit this week.

๐Ÿ“Šas you can see, he’s in great standing for his age. and, for his bmi, they flagged him because it says he’s obese for his height, even though he reads at 12-15% body-fat, has a lot of dense muscle & is incredibly strong.

๐Ÿ“Œat times, we can get so fixated on appearance that we tend to forget how our health is doing. a lot of us think of exercising is like a band-aid over your imaginary “problems” or fixing something about your appearance but it’s much much more than that.

๐Ÿ”‘my advice to any one that feels discouraged because he/she isn’t meeting the expectations of their desired look is to take a moment and look how healthy you are on the inside first. first, do fitness for health and pursue appearance / looks second. once you have your mindset on that doing this as a ‘lifestyle’, rather than fixing something or making it a ‘punishment’, i assure you that you will have a peace of mind & things will begins to fall into the right place.

I love the time when late summer stone fruit and early fall grapes and apples overlap - it’s a little sliver of the the best of both worlds! another reason i love the combo is because you can do pretty much anything with them - roast with meats, add to salads, make compotes or chutneys, and each is amazing on a cheese board! and don’t get me started on the breakfast options....
