Reciprocating arm (rib cage) and leg (hip) step-ups! this exercise is not super difficult, aside from coordination, but the movement up top is crucial to the ability of the lower body functioning properly, and vice versa. most people walk around without much movement at all above the waist. what does that do? it puts a ton of pressure on the legs, hips, feet, lumbar spine, elbows, wrists, shoulders, and neck. the ribcage is a moving, twisting, undulating entity; how can we be healthy if it's always stiff? there are many exercises that can help with ribcage stiffness, but start by swinging your arms in reciprocal fashion as you walk. feel your ribcage twist and you'll probably start to breath better and ache less. thanks for demonstrating @dlschuyler !!

the general idea is that being able to gain tensile strength…nice, taught fascia...is an incredibly important factor in measuring healing. your fascia is the connective tissue that runs vertically between your "six-pack" muscles. the gap might exist indefinitely, but you are “healed” if you can get that fascia that connects the six-pack muscles firing under load. ------------------------------
diane lee, a pelvic floor physical therapy revolutionary, says healing occurs when one is able, “…to achieve optimal strategies for transferring loads through the abdominal canister.” she continues by asking if the patient can function, “in multiple vertical loading tasks (single leg standing, squatting, walking, moving from sit to stand, and climbing stairs).” simply put, if your fascia isn’t firing whether you have a gap or not, your body will compensate with less than ideal strategies, resulting in lower back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, hip pain, and more. -------------------------
