Just out #doingthings in my new fave @outdoorvoices outfit at parque arví 😍 . sitting at about 7500 ft. elevation in the northeast area of medellín, parque arví is an ecological nature preserve & pre-hispanic archeological site spanning nearly 60,000 acres with 54 miles of walkable trails πŸ‘£. you can explore some of the land on your own, while most of the trails are for guided tours only. we opted for wandering on our own, and while we we didn't happen upon any heart-stopping views, it was nice to get out of the city and into nature for the day! 🌳

➑️let’s talk deadlifts. sumo vs conventional. i’ve included examples performing both styles of deadlifts. first video here is my final set of sumo deadlifts from last night. second video is a set of conventional deadlifts from contest prep. which should you do? well, that depends...ask yourself what your goals are first. sumo dead’s are going to be more glute and hamstrings focus while if you really want to pound that back you’ll get more of that focus with conventional dead’s. *another important variable to keep in mind is what movement is safest for you or feels the most comfortable. sumo dead’s are definitely going to be a “safer” movement out of the two. if you’re constantly rounding your back severely pulling conventional that’s putting you at risk for injury. so my advice is try both and see which one feels best for you. as you see, i like both fairly equal. so i rotate them year to year and focus on progressing the best i can at each pull. i’m definitely better at sumo and it feels more natural for my body. another important aspect is i recover much easier from sumo deadlifts compared to conventional deadlifts. so that’s something else to consider in you’re programming especially combining these movements with squats. make sure you can properly recover week to week so you can progress on both your squats and deadlifts....not just one of the movements. hope that this helped some of you ☺️ #deadlift #workout #onlinecoach #wnbfpro #weightlifting #safety #exercise #example #iifym #flexibledieting #fitness #fit #fitfam #spokane #intensity #instagramfitness #lift #strength #power #educate
