Feeling good about yourself is so important, that’s why i decided to do the 8 week challenge @flexfitnessaustralia it’s honestly changed the way i think and feel! it’s so nice to feel good inside and out.. i definitely feel like i have my old body back before babies. image isn’t everything but i feel it is to a certain extent because that’s when your confidence builds up when you feel good. i am more positive, energetic and happy. .

Greens for healthy skin and hormones*** last night i had all the greens with my teriyaki salmon and brown rice asian noodles. the recipe for great skin starts with a healthy diet which includes lots of greens!! i add spinach to just about everything and we easily go through 500g to a 1kg of spinach in our house! but i am really trying to up my intake on other green vegetables that are nutrient dense like broccolini and asparagus. .

broccoli helps with premature aging as its high in vitamin c to increase collagen production, it also helps with premature aging by providing our body with a load of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals phytonutrients and dietary fibres to protect our skin cells from oxidative damage caused by free radicals which help reduce the signs of premature aging. .

also asparagus is said to assist with heath of the thyroid (so that’s right up my alley) which keep your hormones in check! .

when cooking my asparagus and broccolini i put a bit of oil in a hot pan, add ginger to the oil then put the veggies in and mix them around with a wooden spoon (avoid any plastic utensils with heat!). put the lid on to steam them slightly and then give them a quick mix before taking them out of the pan. i don’t like to overcook my veggies. i still like them crunchy so that i can retain the nutrients! .

pairing these with brown rice noodles and some baked fish is absolutely delicious and super satisfying. even easier if you get the bag n bake fish for a quick, easy and no mess dinner!

but if you’re the type of person who hates the scales and you resort to calling it a "sad step” then don’t go weighing yourself randomly or sporadically and then letting the results get you down.

it won’t offer you any value or insight whatsoever if you weigh yourself on a whim.

it will only eat your motivation, patience and persistence away.

the scales are a tool and the tool is only as good as it’s user, so, if you’re going to half-arse it, then i urge you to not bother at all.

if you are going to weigh yourself then do it daily first thing in the morning. track it and look at the weekly, bi-weekly and long-term trend.

looking at random days is absolutely pointless. this is especially true if you’re female.
