Breakfast! this is one of the egg wraps i posted about topped with deer sausage and some smoked gouda. it was delicious but now i await the inevitable joint pain that accompanies egg-eating. sometimes, it’s worth it a especially when i have a farm fresh egg hanging around...but even that i can’t do very often.
i promised a review of the egg white wraps so here it is. honestly, they weren’t at all bad. however, if you are able to eat and tolerate eggs i would much rather see you make these yourself from a whole egg. just whisk the egg (like when making scrambled eggs) and then cook in a small cast iron skillet. flip once. should be cooked in just a minute or two. .
so why wouldn’t i recommenced these? well, for one, they are expensive and, you are missing out on the choline and fat-soluble vitamins in those beautiful yolks. .
what about the time savings that these afford? it’s literally a matter of minutes to whip up one of these and not skip out on the yolk!
finally, they are awfully small. so if you are truly going to use this as a ‘wrap’ - i would also make your own bigger wrap from a whole egg. the larger size will allow you to pile on some sautéed spinach or other veggies (which i always recommend). these just had no room to put much of anything in there...so i just ate with a fork.
