love training volume and it definitely takes some grit to keep going after each set. if you feel stuck on your deadlift pr, give your body some hate and try these rounds with your appropriate weights.

At the end of my leg workouts on monday’s. i like to do a quad finisher by lowering the weight on the leg extension machine and do as many reps as i possibly can for three sets. also, i’ve noticed i get more of a contraction when i point my toes inward.

a lot of people like to ask me. “what is the best way to build muscle?” or “how many reps should i go for?” well there are 2 ways to build muscle throughout the body.
the first is progressive overload (which means either adding weight to the bar or completing more repetitions than your previous best. this tears down muscle tissue and in recovery, your muscles grow)

the second way is cellular damage/time under tension (this basically means doing as many reps as you can and going for the “pump”) both of these methods will build muscle. but which one is better for building muscle? well neither one is better than the other. however, that doesn’t mean you should only be focusing on one way.
when it comes to every one of my workouts, i like to do compound exercises with heavy weight first (progressive overload) and towards the end i like to train the muscle with high reps (cellular damage)
by incorporating these two tactics you will see some major progress and be able to maximize your gains.
full back and biceps workout for today:
barbell rows 4x8 205, drop set with 135
deadlifts 4x10 @275
t bar rows 4x12 with drop set
lat pulldowns 3x15-20 super set with cable rows 3x15-20
rear delt flies 4x20 with drop set
preacher curls 4x10-12 super set 4x12 hammer curls
single standing db curls 4x10 each arm
run the rack ez bar curls starting at 70 amrap until failure at 20 lbs

back full of sweat. but i was far from unhappy. i loved early minute of that workout. back days have become my new favorite. just hard work, with some laughter and fun times with friends at the gym thrown in for good measure.

i’ve said it before but i’ll say it again, the gym is one of my anchors in life. but it’s not only the weights that keep my grounded or focused. it’s also the people - not all of them, but a select few who i draw motivation and inspiration from to become better than i was yesterday. and knowledge, lots of knowledge i’ve gained in the last plus year. nutritional, functional, lifting and recovery tips here and there. and of course full blown “this is how you do it and why” sort of hands on education type stuff. and i eat it up, love it. learning and growing each waking day ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ.
