Hearty creamy sausage tortellini soup
lb of italian sausage
5 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup flour
2.5 cups heavy cream or half and half
spinage, carrots, onion, garlic, thyme sprigs
1 or 2 packages of tortellini( i used two packages so it would go further and therefore also added more chicken broth and more cream as well as more seasonings)
i added salt, garlic salt, and pepper to taste until it was right. i also added my crushed cayenne pepper to my bowl for a kick. you decide how much spinage you want to use as well as carrots and garlic(cooking is up to you, stray from the recipes and make it yours!) grab a p*t and cook the sausage until browned and crumbled chopping it up as you cook it. transfer the cooked sausage to a paper towel lined plate.
chop the onion, garlic and carrots and add to the p*t saute until translucent(not until the carrots are translucent that may take awhile). then add the flour and mix, slowly add the broth and bring back to a boil and add the cream, thyme sprigs, the spinage, the sausage and tortellini simmer for 5 minutes and prepare your tastebuds.
add salt and pepper to taste!
