Sorry for disappearing! we’ve been moving so fast i’ve hardly had time to keep up with the cellular phone business. the good news is that i have a wealth of lovely photos and video to share for a long time to come — once i find a moment to catch my breath. ✨ here’s a moment i’ve been anticipating my entire adult life : spending a brisk (and snowy) afternoon among the artifacts at the #keatshouse in #hampsteadheath, london.
Hampstead heath - it is like a slice of the countryside dropped into the centre of london. well not quite the centre but it is close. ‘the heath’ is magical. you can wander up hills to see the skyline of london, past ponds and although cold you can swim in them. there are areas filled with trees while other parts are perfect for a picnic. sunday morning is the best time. i always feel a bit english out on a sunday stroll through the park. nothing stops the locals in their wellies. not even snow in march. no matter which season you visit london a visit to hampstead heath must be on the list. - t
this has been one of the hardest long runs. . . not because it was long, but because i felt extremely sedative these days. the slippery roads and unfriendly weather didn’t help to find motivation. maybe i really needed the down time?! mmm. . .
in a way, this run gave me confidence. guess i forgot how much mental resiliance and endurance a marathon requires. especially when you rely entirely on your own capabilities. my training partners have different goals and on d-day, i will have to manage things by myself anyway. doing long runs solo is therefore the perfect preparation. i tried some new yummy energy blocks @clifbar 😋 omg, super tasty & fun to eat!
so, now, will that desired pb happen? that’s the big question, no idea. . . i might have to readjust my expectations. totally don’t want to though! 🔥🔥🔥
