The legend of “the ghost train of old ely”
did you know locomotive 40 is the official locomotive of nevada? she is also know as the “ghost train of old ely”. not only because she is steam locomotive operating like a ghost from the past in a modern world, but she has a legend behind her that is unlike any other locomotive.
built in 1910, locomotive 40 was the passenger engine of the railway. passenger service stopped in july of 1941, right before pearl harbor was bombed. with america entering world war ii and war demand at full force, there was high demand for scrap metal. crews here loved locomotive 40 so much the last thing they want to see was her scrapped. so when kennecott officials came down to inspect the railroad, rumor has it locomotive 40 would disappear like a ghost. where did she go? what did the crew do with her?
legend says 40 would run up to the mine in the middle of the night. at the time, the mine had 18 miles of railroad track inside the pit, plenty of sidings to hide a locomotive on. no one ever saw her go up there, no one claimed to know she was there. that whistle heard all over the valley, different than the rest of the ore trains, just must have been “the ghost train of old ely” traveling in the night!
Game: danganronpa 2
topic: give weird games a chance!
this may seem related to games only but hear me out.
this is a discussion between hajime and chiaki about games. chiaki mentioned the words in the picture it made me think🤔. why do people put off weird or bad games and stuck to mainstream things like black ops and mario games? there are a lot hidden gems out there in the game industry. games like journey that put the player on an atmospheric journey. games like sonic o6 are hated on for it’s rushed development and glitches. i think people need to look at games like these and find the good things about it. that goes for every game whether it is good or bad.
this applies to real life because i feel people don’t give certain hobbies or opportunities a chance because they seem too weird.
for example, some normies or non-anime watchers consider all anime fans as otakus because they watch and talk about anime and the characters from the shows all the time. that isn’t true because not everyone is a big fan of it. they may watch it casually or make it a life hobby.
remember to not judge a book by its cover. you’ll never know how good it is unless you read it. just have fun.
what is your favorite game that is considered strange within the gaming community?
#flashbackfriday#fbf#coach#iannissfairopoulos#headcoach#olympiacos#greece#europeanbasketball#istanbul#turkey#athens#livelife#liveyourdream#liveyouradventure#dreambig#havefun
