I find it amazing when i hear elite level sporting teams do not incorporate deadlifts into their training program yet seem to have weekly hamstring injuries.

maybe it’s related or maybe coincidence.

when programming for club level sports participants or runners i always incorporate deadlifts into their training program in both strength and hypertrophy rep ranges.
the feedback i get is always an improvement in speed and better recovery ie less hamstring tightness or susceptibility to injury.

do you use any of these exercises in your training program?

so as you know, i’m not vegan but i do try to incorporate plant-based days into my diet... not because i think it’s healthier but being 100% honest, because i don’t know what to believe regarding nutrition any more. i’m told not to eat soya, red meat causes b***l cancer, red meat is needed for iron, dairy is bad for us, dairy is needed for calcium, but wait, you can get calcium from greens but don’t eat greens, they’re sprayed with pesticides, but you should be vegan, it’s better for your health, but you’ll need to take supplements because if you’re vegan you’re missing out on vital nutrients... is it any wonder we have so many people with eating disorders? no one knows what the hell to eat anymore? so all i can do is my best. i have plant based days just to ease my conscience & just in case there is some truth to being vegan is healthier. i still eat red meat, because i can become anaemic pretty quickly if i don’t. i still eat dairy because i like cheese & yogurt & it’s an easy source of extra protein. what i eat in a day is never the same twice, but here is an example of one plant based day, but be aware, this is instagram... i’m not going to show you a picture of the big mac i may have tomorrow. πŸ˜‰

this week was quite bad to be fair. so i'm happy that the bad weekend of buffet food and cake didn't ruin all the hard work through the week. i'm going to a hiit class wednesday night, so hopefully next week i'll see a bigger loss.

throwing it back to comp day, hands down one of the best moments of my life standing on that stage for the first time.
from bed bound to a bodybuilding stage. what a blessing. what a crazy journey life can be!
recently i've majorly got the prep bug. i just want to get back on that stage with all the lessons i learned through my first prep. and some new leg gains πŸ˜πŸ– currently i have too many work commitments to focus on to go through prep. after another health dip this year i have to put my energy in to building my business back up right now but i'm praying things fall in to place and i'm able to compete again next year.
bodybuilding is a wierd old sport. with the boom of ig fitness it's become a huge controversy. i'm never going to pretend this lifestyle is always healthy or that bodybuilding doesn't have it's flaws but for me the process of pushing yourself to the absolute limits physically and mentally is an incredible environment for personal growth.
i treasure the experience and hope i'm able to get back on on stage again in the not too distant future.
what are your thoughts on bodybuilding?

Running into a new week πŸƒπŸ½‍♀️ re - focused after the weekend and getting my head back in the game ☺️πŸ’ͺ🏼 such a lovely morning, normally on a monday i leave my bigger run for the evening but once i got out there i couldn’t resist going longer! my legs felt pretty reasonable despite yesterday’s long run! some big decisions to make over the next few weeks after getting 2 exciting job opportunities, things finally seem to be starting to fall into place ☺️ now just to run fast! πŸ˜œπŸ’žπŸƒπŸ½‍♀️
